Mushroom Monday - 2019 Mushroom Finds
Here's a few mushroom finds from 2019 that I haven't published yet.

These little translucent orange mushrooms were teeny tiny. I suspect they might be in the mycena family but I've never seen them this small so they could be something different.

Nearby there were some nice summer chantrelles. This area has rich dark soil that produces lots of different species of mushrooms.

Here's some amber jelly roll aka exidia recisa. I always find this on broken hardwood branches after a spring or fall rain. I use it in soups.

Here's another species of jelly fungi this one is exidia glandulosa. It is also edible and tastes the same as the one above. The only difference is it is black and tends to have bulbous shapes rather than roll like shapes of amber jelly roll.

Here's a nice blueish example of trametes versacolor aka turkeytail. The latin versacolor basically means it shows up in many different colors.

Here's an orangy brown version of turkeytail. I've also seen green and brown versions as well. Studies have shown there are anticancer antitumor properties in turkeytail. So a tincture of this stuff can be made as a preventative measure.

Now for a random wasp nest.

It still had some larvae in it, a storm had knocked it out of the tree earlier. These are docile bald faced hornets. They have a bad sting but are not very aggressive.

Back to some unidentified mushrooms. I still can't figure out what these little guys are...

Now for a strange pizza I made with golden oysters and lion's mane. I accidentally put too much yeast and flour in the recipe so it ended up like bread lol.

These are the golden oysters that were used.

And the batch of lion's mane. I actually put bits of it in the crust and it cooked well in there adding a bit of texture. Lion's mane can dry out if it is put on top better to put it on the bottom of the topping or inside the dough itself. Happy #mushroommonday
