Mushroom Monday - Tiny Mushrooms and UFO Fall Finds
Here are a few tiny mushrooms that sprouted after a rain for this #mushroommonday

Look at this tiny guy growing out of a twig.

These little guys grow almost exclusively on tiny twigs hence their name twig parachute.

Their scientific name is Marasmiellus ramealis they can be found pretty easily on the forest floor on tiny twigs after a rain. I don't know if they are edible or not but I doubt anyone has tried eating them because they are too tiny to eat.

Look at this strange little ball... I think it might be wolf's milk slime mold but I'm not sure if it is just the start of a cap of a mycena of sorts...

Speaking of mycena here is a family at different stages growing out of dead wood. I'm not sure which exact species of mycena these are as there are many gray/brown mycena mushrooms out there.

Here's what the mycena gills look like. Some mycena are edible and others are poisonous but they all don't have a good culinary taste or texture to them so I would avoid trying to eat them.

Here is a batch of tiny crusty polypores on the side of a tree. They kind of have characteristics of turkey tail but I doubt they are turkeytail.

Now for a strange beat up UFO. It also has yellow fungi growing all over it with a heavy sulfur smell to it.

Here you can sort of see the gills underneath all the yellow parasitic fungi. So far I have been unsuccessful at identifying either the parasitic mold or the mushroom underneath... That's all for now happy #mushroommonday and thanks for looking :-)
