Greetings to you all, for this week I'd be performing a classic by former Irish rock band "The Cranberries" called "Zombie" in line with this week's theme "war" as selected by recent spotlight artiste @jasperdick. The song talks about the ills of war, innocent lives are lost dying for a cause they know nothing about. No one deserves to die, we all need to live. All lives matter, war isn't the way to go....let's dialogue and find a way to move forward. We are all precious in the sight of God, we are one. Zombie is a protest song by Irish alternative rock band The Cranberries in memory of Johnathan Ball and Tim Parry, who were killed in the 1993 Warrington bombings, their lives were cut short at such a tender age due to explosives hidden in litter bins 😢...3 years and 12 years respectively 💔. Zombie basically protests against war, it may not be you nor any of your family going through war or the trauma that comes after losing those that are really dear.....simply put war is evil, all it does is destroy. It was released on the 19th of September 1994, prior to writing this song "The Cranberries" had experienced war from their region which lasted for more than two decades leaving about 3500 people dead and thousands injured 😭. What caused the war was the need for supreme control in their region(Northern Ireland) they wanted to end British rule over them and gain total authority over her region. In April 2020, it became the first song by an Irish band to surpass one billion views on YouTube.
