A great combination is the power of selling addictive products to a loyal customer base. The addictive product could be a chemical dependency like alcohol, drugs and tobacco.  Or you could be simple things the people can not live without such as pizza, milkshakes, burgers and soda.

McDonald's (MCD) sells nearly $60 million worth of addictive foods every single day.  They have grown into a $145 billion fast food nominator with locations in more than 100 countries.  Their loyal customers return to the stores week by week demanding more burgers, fries and shakes.  This loyalty shows up on the income statement with profits growing 14% reaching almost $6 billion.

MCD shares have climbed along with the companies profits and I would expect more gains ahead as people will probably buy more burgers in good times and bad.
