Forest in the city: escape from the hustle bustle for a moment
*I understand why they call it nature therapy.*

Living in the city, often feels like I’m so far from nature. There are only the sound of vehicles here and there, skyscrappers that felt like competing to be the tallest, and lack of green scenery. However, in fact, there are still some natural spaces that can be found in some corners of the city. This “Kebun Bibit” is one of them.

Actually, for the locals, this place is like the “Flora Park 2.0” because we have the one that more popular. But that’s also why I prefer this park than the other one, because less people come to this place. As far as I can remember, I have only visisted this park once, to do schoolwork or something like that when I’m still in a high school. It was years ago. Now I question myself, why don’t I take the time to come here once in while and just take a deep breath, escape from the hustle bustle of my city.

I came to this park with my sister back in March, a day before Eid al-Fitr—one of the most important date for Muslims and also a long holiday here. So the place was quite empty, there’s even no security guard in the parking area, so I allowed to parked my motorbike inside the park. There were still some people come, but overall it was pretty quiet to spend time walking around.

This park has more than one playground area for childrens, and obviously surrounded by big trees and other plants. But some corners seemed not really well maintain. Maybe because it’s not as popular as the other one, so there are less staff here or there's another reason, I’m not sure.

The place is big enough to spend time walking around quietly. I tried to walking slowly and go around it all. And my favorite part is obviously, the lake in the middle of this park. It was so peaceful to see the calm water surrounded by greenery. I was also lucky enough that the weather wasn’t too hot that day, so I could immersing the beauty of this park. This is probably the closest we could expect when we ask for a forest in the city.

This place also has a camping ground, which I have no idea what’s the reason for it. I mean, in my opinion, I don’t think this place is “in the middle of nowhere” and it’s not interesting enough to spend the night camping there. But maybe some people really need a space like this, who knows.

I walked the rest of the park feeling refresh and recharge. Then last but not least, I met deers<3 There were quite numbers of them. They were just chilling that day. Sometimes, only by looking at other living-creatures makes us appreciate this life a little bit better, doesn’t it?

And I don’t know why there were also so many cats around the area. They were just roam around freely. Their food, which is probably prepared by the staff, can be found in every corner of the park. In this picture below, they were just hanging out outside the deers area.

It really felt like went to this park is the thing I needed the most, just to enjoying the fresh air and seeing trees around for little while. It’s easy to hate the busyness of city life and wishing I could live closer to nature, but in fact, we still have places like this. Just a few KM away, and it feels like we’ve stepped into a completely different environment, escape from the hustle bustle of the city for a moment.
