I rarely walk when I’m in the city because I don’t like the crowds. But when I do, I think I always make sure to have a destination. It gives me a sense of direction because I know where I’m going. However, when we’re in a completely new environment, it seems like wherever we go, we will end up find something unexpected.

I’ve been in a new environment for the past few weeks, and it’s closer to nature. When I have the will to go on a walk, I like to explore new routes to discover different landscapes and views. So that day, I went for a morning walk with no destination in mind. I want to keep walking and walking until I didn’t want it anymore. Honestly, that sounds a little bit dramatic🤣

I will never get tired of this vast sky surronded by green scenery. I started my walk around 6.30 so the streets weren’t too busy yet. I almost always feel cold spending days in areas like this, so a morning walk is a nice way to expose myself to the sun and warm up my body. When I see some random alleys that looks deserted but not creepy, I will check it out. Often time there’s nothing but more greenery here and there. Sometimes there’s wild plants, or even abandoned buildings.

The street is much longer than I expected. There are several turns but I wanted to go up a little bit more, until I realized maybe it was too much for me. So I turned around, walking back the way I came. Morning walks sometimes gifted me with unexpected smile from a stranger. Other times, it just warms my heart to see people doing their slow morning routines like watering plants, sweeping the yard, even dropping off the kids to school.

I turn into an alley and continue to walk. There are new paths I discover and beautiful flowers I’ve never seen before. With the sunny weather, a morning walk with no destination like this can be a therapeutic in itself.
