What things hold you back from doing the things that you really want to?

As human beings, we have so many constraints. There are things we want to do but we are restricted by so many factors. These constraints could be financial, societal or mental.

Growing up, we have so many dreams and aspirations. We have things we thought we could achieve easily but we are still battling with them.

Growing u as an individual, i thought of education, living a good life, driving my own car and probably travel out of the country to have a nice time in another country.

Some of these dreams have been achieved but some are still hanging. Money always have ways of stopping us from achieving our goals though if we give up.

It is also hard to break free from societal norms. Africa is full of 'morals' and they (people) easily perceive 'wrong' as wrong. In an African settings, if your dreams or things you intend achieving do not conform with what the society thinks, then it will be very hard or impossible to achieve them.

People in more advanced countries can decide to do artificial insemination. But in Africa, once people see you with pregnant without a husband to claim it, then you will be tagged a prostitute.

I have contemplated having a contract with a woman to just born for me and stay in her house while i stay in mine. She will have no right on the child provided it is part of the contract.

I have contemplated going to the space to just stay there and be free from the noise and distraction down here. But i would have also preferred a world where our mouths are only used for speech and not food!

All these things are some how restricted by society, stomach and money. Money perhaps is reasonable but society looks absurd! You are probably asking yourself, why is he giving a f*ck about what the society says. But hey, i live in Africa where community is seen as the first and above the individuals.

What the people and society at large think about you is very important in this part of the world. I am sure you have one or two things you want to do too but you are restricted by some things. Can you share those things with me?

Thanks for your time. Your boy @smyle the philosopher.
