Hive continues to move up on the network activity list
<center>

With many dapps on Hive moving full speed, I have noticed Hive's operations per 24 hours has been on the way up. And just passed Tron for the first time. Special thanks to @guiltyparties for getting Hive updated on the blockchain tracking website.

Around the time of creation Hive was around 400,000 operations per day. At the time Splinterlands was still running on Steem, but a few months later the number one gaming dapp moved over to the Hive blockchain and doubled its operations to around 800,000.

@aggroed's and @yabapmatt's dapp

I made a post talking about speculation on when Hive will hit 1 million operations a day. And was hopeful this would happen right after the Splinterlands migration. Though it stayed a little under that estimation.

A little over 2 weeks ago Hive broke through 1 million network operations for the first time.

With the fork from Steem to Hive, there were some needed optimizations and with hardfork 24 we saw many of those applied. Though for a couple days things were running a little rough until all were addressed.

Since Hives first big update (HF 24) dapps running much more smoothly and I am seeing their activities way up. During Hivefest @crimsonclad talked about how NFT Showroom (A place to buy and sell art on the Hive blockchain). Saw volumes exceeding platforms like Rareable on some days, which is one of the top NFT dapps on the Ethereum blockchain.

@juliakponsford's dapp

With Hive having 3 second transactions and no fees many in the NFT world have been checking out our chain. Trying to do such transactions on Ethereum can be 5x slower and expensive.

Having these two dapps (Splinterlands / NFT Showroom) have helped increase the activity rate on Blockivity. And with even more projects coming online I expect the number to increase further. It makes me quite happy to see it surpass Tron, as the Hive blockchain has dapps with uses more than just gambling and exchanges. Hive has the number one gaming dapp across all the blockchains. And with NFT Showroom it brings a whole new group of artists to the blockchain. Just like Splinterlands did for dapp gamers.

A year or so back I took a hard look at Tron and a few other coins that offered casino dividends. Coins such as EOS, ETH and TRON. I was seeing many talk about how they earn dividends from the casino profits on the chains mentioned above. But I also saw many exit scams occur and made me quite wary of investing. After doing much research I found really no basis for touching high risk investments like casino coins. I ended up just buying some EOS and ETH instead of those shady casino tokens that earn you a portion of their gains.

I did not buy Tron though, as when compared to ETH and EOS it seemed even more shady than the Casino coins themselves. I read about the POP network and how they were removed from the Tron blockchain. And other cases of well of removing dapps from the chain. A few links below to why I never invested in Tron.

It was in competition with Bittorrent Token so it was removed from the chain.

Another case of Tron banning dapps.

And of course what happened on Steem

I am glad I did not invest in Tron, and I think as Hive grows I will be quite happy I invested in this chain instead. With many more legitimate dapps popping up on Hive it will bring more users and attention to the chain. And as a user of the two dapps mentioned I really feel at home on this chain. And looking at many others just reminds me how special Hive is in that way.

### Edit 12-23-2020: It has been brought to my attention that blocktivity was having some calculation issues throwing off their stats, I suggest you read @holger80's post for more details: https://peakd.com/hive-139531/@holger80/verify-blocktivity-numbers-for-hive-and-blurt
