Today i will be sharing a very important thing which is so much important for newbies on steemit. I will be talking about **Steemconnect**. It is a very essential tool for steemians.

But do the newbies well know about it? You may be thinking why i am asking this weird question.
You guys know there is running byteball airdrop for steemians. One of my friend was guiding a guy on discord to get his own free $. All was going good, but when he saw the link and my friend said him to sign in he thought it is a phishing link.
That means he don't know about steemconnect, a essential tool for steem blockchain.

For surviving on steemit you must own the basic knowledge of steemit. Think about that guy who was fearing of sign in . He will be lagging behind if he don't get education on this.

- So what is steemconnect and why it is used?

Steemconnect is a token based authentication for Steem which made steemit easier. Every steem blockchain based front end/platform is using. They had set some needy permission over there and through steemconnect you will only allow those specific permission even if you input the **Master password**.
Without this steemit fornt end is not providing all features of steem blockchain, through steemconnect we can use around all of the features like- Delegation/lease of sp , Allowing/Revoking permission of any app and many more which i dont remember and also i am not aware of.

But i can't say that the guy was wrong as phishing sites are taking over us. He was aware of phishing but not of steemconnect.
Steemcoonect has 2 version, we can use both version though v2 version is now implemented all over. So when you are going to sign in a through a steemconnect link make sure that the link is starting with- `https://v2.steemconnect.com/` or  `https://steemconnect.com/`
Make sure that there is a `/` sign after `.com` as many makes phishing sites like- `www.gmail.com0000000000dshu.me/`
On first view it looks a legit link but no, it is a phishing link and made in a way to game you.

So guys, don't afraid of steemconnect link, learn more from witness's post, experienced person's post as they always do good stuffs for this platform. 

**And yes be aware of phishing link as it is happening too much now a days**
**Don't just click and sign in going on any link which you found in post or comment saying free upvotes or dollar**
