✍️ by a former Democrat, now politically homeless… until the avatar arrived.

I haven’t written much about politics in a while—mostly because it hasn't felt worth the energy. I grew up in a Democrat household. Voted that way for years. But over time, I started feeling like neither side really spoke for me anymore. The left didn’t feel like home, and the right felt like a house I wasn’t invited into. So I drifted—politically homeless, watching from the sidelines.

And then… something happened.

This week, President Donald J. Trump, now serving his second term, wrapping up his Middle East tour. You probably won’t hear much about it in the headlines—they’re too busy arguing over distractions—( ORANGE MAN BAD) but what just happened is big. 

We’re talking about trade deals. Peace talks. Public handshakes.  Not empty speeches or fragile ceasefires—but actual movement toward long-term stability.

It’s the kind of thing that brings an old quote to mind:

“Walk softly, but carry a big stick.”

That’s Roosevelt-era wisdom. And right now, it’s walking around in a red tie, grinning, and making billion-dollar agreements while military hardware hums quietly in the background.

It’s like watching that quote come to life—the avatar of strength through diplomacy. No yelling. No begging. Just calm confidence backed by unspoken power. A reminder that peace works best when it's built from a position of strength.

And here’s the thing:
I didn’t expect to be impressed. I wasn’t looking to be impressed. But I know what I saw. And what I saw was leadership that got something done where so many others have failed.

So yeah, maybe I’m not politically homeless anymore. Maybe I just needed to see someone actually walk the walk—and carry the stick.

Let peace roll forward. Let the critics grumble. I’ll be over here, quietly nodding, watching history unfold.
