One time, during the shooting of a film about fishing in the Cheboksary Reservoir, the host Roman Baikov asked me what kind of bait I prefer to go fishing. My answer was - "Those who are at the moment the fish bite." And this is true. I have with me in the boat there are almost all types of baits that can be useful at this time of year in this place. A box with large silicone baits for pikeperch and pike, a box with small ones specifically for perch, a box with wobblers - minnow and crankbaits, a box with foam fish, jig-strimmers and polyurethane foam baits. In the box with wobblers in a separate cell are several spinnerbaits. Spoons are stored in a separate small box, and in the pocket of the backpack there are three box with spinners. All this + case with spare leads, box with hooks + clockwork rings + clasps is placed in my special bag under 4 boxes and a small backpack. Everything is compact, always at hand. And most importantly, I am always ready for surprises in fish preference over bait. And it often helps out ...
For example, during the filming of a film about catching perch on the Lower Volga, Roman was a surprise when I had with me turned out spinners from 1 to 3. They were then allowed to make a full story about catching perch in the Volga delta ducts.

Rotation of baits in these boxes of mine occurs regularly, depending on the time of year. For example, in the fall I may not take spinnerbates or spinners with me, but I will definitely have a box with spoons ones with me. And precisely because it is the spoons that, along with the jig baits, will be relevant in the fall of pike fishing. More than once it happened that it was the slow wiring of the  spoon-bait with pauses right up to falling to the bottom, it became irresistible in the late autumn for pikes, while the jig bait brought only idle bites. This did not happen often, but when this happened, I was ready ...
What am I telling you about this ... Many fishermen run into some kind of bait. Most often it is either jig baits or wobblers. And because of their stubbornness, such fishermen often find themselves without a catch, since the mood of the fish is variable, and sometimes it simply does not react to some types of lures. And fishermen think that fish does not bite))). She bite, just for something else ...

Dima and I, as in the fall, swam into the bay, where on the eve a large pike was caught very well on jig baits. Exhibited exactly at yesterday's point and for 30 minutes did not see a single bite of pike on the jig. They were already going to leave the point, but they decided to make another pair of casts with spoon ... It also turned out that the pike had not gone away. Bite began with the first casting, and we ended up with a great catch. The fish on this day did not want to bite on the jig))).

By the way, the guys from the Fishing Studio this fall staged another battle for the lures. This time, the jig against the spoon ...

Despite the fact that more fish were caught on the jig bait, the spoons lost very little to them. I think the alternation of these types of baits during fishing could give an even more significant result ...
