Hey Splinterlands Friends! My name is @SumatraNate. In this post, I am introducing a new project I have been working on called *Become A Splinter Sage*!
What is *Become A Splinter Sage*?
*Become A Splinter Sage* is a series of online courses that helps [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) players take their next step in their Splinter Voyage. The first course, called **Start Your Splinter Voyage**, has already been published on the Teachable.com platform (https://splintersage.teachable.com/). **Start Your Splinter Voyage** is geared for new [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) players. More courses, focusing on intermediate and advanced topics, will be available soon!
Who is @SumatraNate?
I have been apart of the Hive community since June 2017. I selected @SumatraNate as my user name because I lived in Indonesia for more than 10 years. While in Indonesia, I taught conversational English. Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I started my Splinterlands journey as @SumatraNate in June 2018. This is my primary Splinterlands account, and it manages the majority of cards that I rent out. In August 2019, a purchased a new account called @Pallas-Gull. Originally, @Pallas-Gull was available to be rented as an entire deck. It has since become my everyday playing Splinterlands account. I set up my @AlphaChicken Splinterlands account in November 2019 to manage a collection of Furious Chickens. I get super excited when education and technology collide. I looked forward to helping you, your family, your friends, and really anyone who is ready to take the next step in their Splinter Voyage.

What's next?
While I am preparing more courses, I could really use your help. Right now, the **Start Your Splinter Voyage** course is **FREE**. I am looking for students/testers who would be willing to review the course and give me positive and constructive feedback. I want to hear from [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) players from all experience levels - complete newbies to Splinter Masters! Ideally, over 50 students would join the course for **FREE** to provide feedback. [](https://splintersage.teachable.com/)
Will the current and future courses always be **FREE**?
My goal is that the *Become A Splinter Sage* course series provides tremendous value to players with all levels of [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) experience. My hope is to monetize these courses. The Hive blockchain and [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) have helped me provide for my family. I would feel extremely blessed if these courses could become a new stream of income. In additional to helping support my family, I would use some of the income from these courses to improve and expand my [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) deck of cards.
Why build Splinterlands courses? Aren't there already tons of great resources?
There are many fabulous [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) resources. I am constantly amazed by the creative genius of the Splinterlands team and our faithful community. **So, why add more resources, and why create a paid resource when so much information is available for free?** I recently offered to pay my kiddos to play [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage). I would pay them a monthly "salary" to play an incredible game that is fun and engaging. In return, I would retain the cards and in-game currencies that were earned. My kids thought this was a great idea! But there was one problem. My kiddos did not play consistently. I was at a loss. And as I probed to learn more about their objections and obstacles, I kept hearing the same thing. "Daddy, we just don't understand how to play." There are many resources, but I wanted to create something that would remove the barriers for completely new players like my kiddos, but at the same time grow with those same players as they advance along their Splinter Voyage. As I thought about how to teach my kids to play [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage), I realized that other people might feel the same way. It would be a shame if someone did not join [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) because no one ever taught them how to play.
Final Thoughts
Thanks for reading this article. It means a lot to me. I would be honored if you would join my course and let me know your thoughts. Have a blessed day! See you on the [Splinterlands](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) battlefield!
@SumatraNate</h13> [](https://splinterlands.com?ref=splintersage) Image Source: - Splinterlands Screenshots - from splinterlands.com - Join Now - https://pixabay.com/illustrations/join-now-join-button-membership-6339855/ Disclaim: This post contains affiliate links!
