Bug Out Bits: Bugging out is not camping # 3
So, what’s the difference between bugging out, camping, and long distance hiking? Lets take a look inside Squirrel Bait’s mind. I warn you, it can be a scary place. Bugging out is a treacherous, scary, and difficult thing to do!

Your anxiety/fear/threat level in general is much lower during normal outdoor adventures. You are not threatened by every movement. During a bug out, you’re even threatened by The Authorities trying to “rescue” you and countless other enemies. Meanwhile, you know you are not going home any time soon and there is no way of knowing how long this will last. This leads to extreme unending emotional and mental stress. In a world of depression and anxiety disorders, could you handle it? There will be no more medication refills.

This leads me to the effects of such stress. Ya know, physical effects. Those inconvenient effects in particular. What do I mean? Well, I tell you now, pack some Imodium for the first two weeks or so. You got it! A lot of people will tell you...stress goes right to your gut. Imagine trying to sneak around, catching just naps for sleep, running as needed, and you have cramps and diarrhea. Oh yeah. This is going to be the case for many folks. Toilet paper? Where? I’m not one to take up space in my BOB with wipes but if you’re one of those “gut people” pack some for the initial adjustment period.
