## ***"More is Less" & "Less is More"***


The most talked and most welcomed changes in #newsteem is the higher Curation reward after the 50/50 post reward split up. The changes is so lucrative that many user including whales started doing manual curation. They even left the daily posting and spending more time in curating. The best thing of HF 21/22. The good content creator get rewards of the work. The increase reward pay certainly pulled many users to curate looking at the reward factor.

Even I was more inclined towards the curation and started curating higher reward payout. But certainly the things didn't went out as it suppose to be. Analysing, I found , I am curating wrong posts.

My mistakes was to chase higher payout authors having higher following. The reward I generated from their post isfar less as compaired to what I was expecting, even after upvoting  5 min of posting.

***The reson being, curation reward is directly related with the number of upvotes on the post.*** 

So if the post get more upvotes, the curation part will get distributed among all of them , with certain distribution formula applies by Steem team.

*For Example, take on following assumption.*

- Total Reward ......$ 20
- No of Upvote....... 100
- Curation Reward. $ 10 (50% of $20)


*Now, assuming that the 10$ reward will get distributed among 100 user, let say equally so each user will get $ 0.01 (10/100) as curation reward.*

*Now take another assumption where the number of upvote is lessor*

- Total Reward ......$ 20
- No of Upvote....... 50
- Curation Reward. $ 10 (50% of $20)

*In this case, assuming equal.distribution of reward each curator will get a $ 0.2 (10/50).*

Considering, most of the big authors have large autovotes, the return on curating their content is not profitable as compaired to curating post of lessor know user having lessor upvotes on the post.

This is simple distribution logic where, 

**"More upvotes on post get you lessor curation return, whereas Less upvotes on the post give you higher return"**

The curation rewards on any posts are distributed evenly among all the curators, with a formula which is yet to discover by me. In case anyone loves to put some more highlight on the subject would be very appreciable.

Chasing down the big author only looking for higher payout is not going to get you more return, instead look out for the author having lessor follower and deriving better reward.

That is my take on curation where anyone can get good return, in case there is more insight to get higher curation to enhance more curation knowledge do share your prospective.
