I decided to write about another movie. Today we got **Truman Show** in our plate which is directed by Peter Weir in 1998.  This is probably best movie that criticises media and reality.

Truman Show is a great example why we should improve our media literacy skills and we should think more about media related content.  Trumans entire life is  planned and he lives in a fabricated realiy and he is the only True man in his little life.


Obviously there is only one difference in between Truman Show and current TV shows. Unlike the common tv shows Truman doesn't know he is in a show and media puts a tremendous effort to keep him that way. Truman is basicly sleeping in his own world created by media. He is a symbol of the masses , because societies are currently consuming the media messages without thinking on them , therefore Truman character is really familiar to us he isn't any stranger to us.

Creator of Truman show Christof is pretty smart because he knows that the real world is not better than our fabricated world in Truman Show. There isn't any place like **Seahaven**. It is clean , peacefull and nothing bad happens in there. It is the ultimate American dream and miracle.

Eventhough he tries to keep Truman in this world . He sends mixed messages to audience , therefore audience thinks that he might not be a monster. When he speaks about the corruption in the outer world , he provides Truman a safe harbor and a utopia called sea-haven. However when he is doing all these he keeps his godly position as a creator in the utopia

Truman show is a great criticism to panoptical tv shows like **Big Brother** and Reality shows that allows society to observe people life. Media never stops plagiarising about Orwelian thoughts. A generation raised with Truman show now asking themselves " What am I going to watch now ? " The Truman's words and thoughts dazzles their mind but they were to afraid to sail away in their own. Because television is a vital source like oxygen for them and the directors are their god. Basicly **Truman Burbank** is a reflection of mainstream audience.
