Well there are a lot of things we can link with bad luck , like number 13  , broken mirrors and black cats. We all heard the rumor says that **Black Cats** are symbol of bad luck but what is the reason of this belief ? Lets check the historical evaluation of this.

If you ever see the ancient egyptian hieroglyphics you may see a lot of cat images and unlike the common beleief cats were considered as sacred , furthermore people accept the fact that black cats were goddesses. They even created some laws to prevent people to hurt cats.
It wasn't quite different in the other civilizations too and people were even beleiving if a black cat walks next to you , it means that you will have lucky day.

Christianity was the main reason for the current beleif , because they started to put evil meanings in to the other cultures symbols. We can say the same thing for all the other holy religions. Eventually the perception of people to the cats started to shift to something negative.
The Christianity spreaded all to Europe and Church started to tell some bogus stuff like cats were transforming to devil at nights. Eventually the hate to these animals increased at that time.

Because of their furs cats take negative energy and it was known in the medievel era too and people claimed that black witches were doing evil magics by using cats as a negative energy paratoners. According to medievel people black magic masters were powering up negatif energy to their black cats and they use the cats on the people they want to make sick or kill. After all those rumors they started to burn witches in the medievel era and most of the women with cats accused of being a witch. These were the beleiefs of from most dark era of the medievel europe. Eventually these beleiefs started to lose strenght however the myth saying black cats are symbol of bad luck manage to come to the recent era.
