Diversification is paramount during the discovery phase of new disruptive technologies. 

Keeping it real, some will make it, most won't. 

Who knows how or why at this stage. We can only align with what we believe in, place our bets, educate others, and wait.

It's easy to become emotionally attached to what you believe in and/or interact with the most. Sometimes this is good, and sometimes it's not. It can be romantic or it can be tragic. Nothing to fault there.

### My Logic:

I'm a big believer in the future of cryptocurrency, namely in Bitcoin and Ethereum, etc.. That's where I've invested the majority of my _money_ in crypto and continue to add it to. While crypto is risky enough, I find some solace in holding where the volume is churning and being held, as that's a key indicator for me. That gives me a relative sense of confidence and stability in a crazy market. I can always swap coins later. This is what's important to me at this stage.

I'm also a big believer in the social media/dapp side of crypto in the future. That's why I've invested so much of my _time_ into Steem. Time = Money ...duh. I don't mind having risk-free (earned) Steem staked. This keeps me rational and unbiased. It ensures that I don't act selfishly to try to protect my eggs in a rather shaky nest at the moment.

But! (There's always a but.) With greater risk, comes greater reward. If Steem and other alt coins survive and thrive, it'll feel amazing.

### Reality Proposition:

Putting Steem hopes and dreams aside, are you comfortable with your position in the crypto space if Steem lost almost all of its dollar value?

Don't shake this off so fast. Think about it. Would you really be ok if the bulk of your crypto investment was in Steem and the market value nearly evaporated (and stayed that way)? 

I'm not talking about a divine opportunity to scoop up tons of "Cheap Steem!!" to hold tight for future glory. I'm talking about Steem getting left in the dust with a dead end for some unforeseen reasons or events.

Additionally, if Bitcoin and a few select cryptos DID work out in the long run, but you had little-to-no stake/holdings in them, would you be at peace and be able to live with yourself for being devoutly invested in one token with a grandiose vision?

It's really worth considering _now_ to confirm that you're comfortable with how you're set up for the future. There is still plenty of time to make adjustments for the upcoming years.

Personally, I'd be proud of myself for taking a big swing if all of crypto went bust. I've carefully considered what cards I want to hold and held them through thick and thin. I've also added a few as lottery tickets to make sure I remained diversified. 

However, if I had all of my crypto were in one or two tokens that were super high risk, I'm not sure I'd feel the same.

If you believe in something, be a part of it and help it grow. 

If you believe in the general revolution, please don't ignore the possibility that other options may be the "chosen ones." 

If Steem is one of those, then we're all legends and heroes for our vision and faith. 

However, if the money flow, supply and demand, corporate and government interest, and public awareness are swelling elsewhere, don't let the romanticism of being faithful to what you're emotionally attached to block you from spreading out your risk just a tad for the long run.
