Hi everyone! Five days ago I tried the **SETI@home**, and I have to say it: it was for the first time to have such a smooth start with a GPU project! Few clicks away: one from **BAM! account manager**, and two clicks to configure the **SETI@home** applications for GPU-only operation, my **Windows 10** laptop (having an integrated **Intel HD Graphics 520** (3201MB) and OpenCL 2.0) and my **Ubuntu** workstation (having an dedicated **NVIDIA GeForce GT 630** (1997MB) and OpenCL 1.2) where searching signs of extraterrestrial intelligence. There are two applications available: **AstroPulse v7** and **SETI@home v8**. The two applications are complementary. While **SETI@home** is searching for narrowband signals in the hope of finding sources of extraterrestrial intelligence, the **AstroPulse** listens for broader-band, short-time pulses, which may result also in identifying pulsars or black holes, in addition to ETs. After the first five days, with a reduced up-time of my machines, I accumulated **5672 credit points**, enough to position me at the half of the world ranking. Impressive, isn't it? By the way, I just remembered that I have the best picture for this post, one which I took in March 2017, during my trip to the Nevada desert:
