## Use this tool to check the market price of supported trading pairs of Blocktrades.us and find the best value conversion.

So chatting with @tuck-fheman yesterday while he was trying to payout some 'employee's' in BTC for their contributions to some post he had made; and noticed there was a need for a tool to help with the computation of trading SBD for BTC especially if you add another coin in the mix i.e SBD -> ETH -> BTC; the time taken to calculate such a path mean's that by the time you have calculated the value; it is out of date and needs to be calculated again. so i thought i would knock together a tool that could take the heart ache out of this. so i am very happy to announce my ["Blocktrades.us Price comparison for Steem Backed Dollars"](http://jsfiddle.net/n1am3dd7/embedded/result/) tool;  code might be a bit messy but it serves it purpose.

## What is this tool?
I have created a tool that will check the latest conversion rate's on [blocktrades.us](https://blocktrades.us/) for most trading pairs and also check a weighted price of the supported pairs on the open market to analyse the potential to achieve better value conversion from Steem Backed Dollars to BTC. 



## What can it do?
It just checks the prices and suggests the best value method of converting your SBD/STEEM to BTC. 
That could happen in a direct conversion from SBD/STEEM -> BTC or maybe better value could be obtained by trading to SBD/STEEM -> ETH -> BTC.
The calculations are hard to preform on the fly so i think this will be of benefit to anyone looking to get some BTC to pay some bills or buy some trinkets.

The tool retrieves a direct quote from Blocktrade.us at the time you request it and this quote take into account the amount of SBD or STEEM you are looking to trade;  also at the same time the tool take market data to derive the current price of BTC/USD and also Supported Pairs/BTC and generate's an estimated value for your trade.


## What are the supported Pairs.
* BTC
* BTS
* DOGE
* ETH
* LTC

## What should i look out for?
* Conversion rates at Blocktrades.us and the open market change quickly; so data that is acquired could be out of date by the time you make you trade.
* This tool does not take into consideration the liquidity of the order books for Alt coins on certain exchanges; although this is somewhat mitigated by using a volume averaged price of the support pairs to provide a realistic price
* Conversion value/rate changes depending on the amount of SBD/STEEM you are looking to trade.
* Some currencies have slower block times than others and therefore will require a longer wait period before being confirmed during which time the price may have change on the open markets (SBD & STEEM are lighting fast so it is only the last mile conversion your need to consider)
