Chinese automaker BYD  just announced annual revenue of 777 billion yuan ($107 billion) for 2024!

What does this mean? That it has surpassed Tesla , which closed the year with $97.7 billion!

BYD’s massive sales growth is mainly driven by its hybrid vehicles, and the company has become the first in the world to reach 10,000,000 new energy vehicles!

And if that wasn’t impressive enough, the Chinese company just announced a new technology called the ["Super e-Platform,"](https://www.electricmotorengineering.com/byds-super-e-platform-charging-in-5-minutes/)  which promises to charge 400 kilometers in just 5 minutes! If this turns out to be true, it would be a game-changer, revolutionizing the way we use electric vehicles, as charging speed has been one of the biggest challenges.

BYD  stock has already risen 50% since the beginning of the year… while at the same time, Tesla is on a decline, having lost 30% of its value!

But why is this happening? Many blame Elon Musk, saying he has neglected Tesla  to focus on politics. But there are far bigger challenges the company is facing.

Let’s look at the numbers, which never lie. It seems that in Europe, Tesla  is struggling, as its sales dropped by 40% in February, and overall, for 2025, they are down by 43%.

At the same time, while electric vehicle sales in Europe are growing by 28%, Tesla  is seeing its market share shrink from 2.8% last year to just 1.8%.

CATHIE WOOD

Things don’t look great for Tesla . Even so, some die-hard supporters remain. For example, despite the decline, [Cathie Wood](https://finance.yahoo.com/news/why-cathie-wood-still-super-140727006.html), one of Tesla’s  most devoted investors, predicts that the stock will reach $2,600 within the next five years!

Right now, Tesla  is trading at $278.39. If her prediction comes true, that would mean an 834% increase!

And why is she so confident? The main reason she believes so strongly in Tesla  is robotaxis, which she expects will make up 90% of the company’s future value. If Tesla manages to dominate autonomous driving, it could indeed make a powerful comeback to the top.
