We got together to record some jazz tunes and other songs. I did some singing and guitar, but also took along my little Yamaha drums. Some of the tunes really need a swing rhythm, so I need to practice that. Earlier this evening I was working on some heavy rock for a Drumeo collaboration, so this is a bit different. Drumeo had an appropriate backing track I could use. It sounds a bit like early Miles Davis. I just played the basic rhythm with some variations of how I played the drum and cymbals. Jazz soloing is another level. I hope to see more drummers on Hive soon, but I will keep doing these #drumday videos to motivate myself.
