We had a big family event on over the weekend that affected my running a little. I could not get to parkrun yesterday and then we were at a big party in the evening where we stayed over at the hotel and so I could not run this morning. However, we were home by lunch time. I had to do a few chores such as cleaning out the chickens and cutting the hedge, but this left me with some time to run before dinner. I headed out about 5pm on my regular loop. It was relatively warm and nice conditions for running. I thought I was going fairly well, but the audible updates told me I was only doing around six minutes for each kilometre. That is okay as I was not going for speed, but I still do not like to go any slower than that. Round numbers are a psychological thing we tend to hang onto. By half way it was really starting to get dark and I could just about see where I was going by the streetlights as I got back. I came in across the garden and almost tripped over the neighbour's cat that was lurking on the path. I just had time for a shower before dinner. I was happy to get in 10km and will aim to at least that again during the week. I would really like to get to parkrun more often and to do it in more locations.  Endomondo thought I was going particularly quick today, but I know I could not manage that maximum pace for any distance. Please check on people in #RunningProject. They will inspire you.
