Who actually reads the Daily Express?
If you don't know, the [Daily Express](https://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Daily_Express) is a right wing British 'newspaper' that seems to consist of spreading fear, distrust and general confusion. I mostly only see the covers when buying a real newspaper or passing a newsagents, but sometimes their headlines crop up in my Google news feed. The following appeared under the weather forecast on my phone.

Apparently it's SHOCKING that the UK could get snow in winter and it sounds like Europe is to blame, as usual. I somehow doubt that climate change would be given serious coverage by them, but feel free to prove me wrong.

They tend to have a very limited range of subjects for their front page headlines that include the royal family (especially Diana), the weather, miracle cures, pensioners (especially if they are being 'ripped off) and foreigners. There's even [a site](http://expressbingo.org.uk) dedicated to highlighting how few topics they cover.

UK newspaper circulations are way down on their peak, but this is still one of the top sellers. That makes me sad, but it seems there's a big enough market to keep them going. The fact that their site gets so much exposure in search results means a lot of people will be exposed to their strange obsessions.

I'm always careful to avoid clicking on any links to their site as I don't want to encourage them. The same applies to their rival The Mail. Some will say I'm imposing my own 'filter bubble', but I don't see them adding anything useful to my life. Reading it would only make me angry.

Does anyone use it as a news source? I've seen some Steemit posts linking there and I sometimes point out that it's not a reliable source. I guess it could raise some laughs, but I can get that elsewhere.

Every newspaper has done sort of agenda, but some actually include covering actual news in that. I don't subscribe to 'all mass media is evil', or other generalisations. You have to pick and choose. I get some people saying I should trust some random blogger/YouTuber for 'the truth'. I'll go by reputation.

Just needed to get that out of my system :)
