I gave 250 STEEM to @alexandravart yesterday.

# Why?

It's simple: I understand what it's like to be a starving artist.

Also, @papa-pepper has something to do with this because he said "If we can give when the opportunity presents itself, then that's what we should do."

A deep dive into researching her work, and then I realized that sometimes, a famous artists, a real talent can sit directly under our noses and no one even realizes this. I believe Alexandra is precisely that, an undiscovered famous artist.

I'm very particular about what I like. This is what I refer to as the "artist's curse." Having very particular artistic tastes actually does make life more difficult. I am not impressed by 99% of the drivel I come across (both art and writing). So, for me to get that weird, other-worldly sensation from an artist is a rare thing. And after viewing Alexandra's video, which shows the scale of her work (the paintings are enormous), I got that weird feeling in my gut......her art is a mix of pure energy mixed with a sort of tragic feeling. Pain mixed with energy. It's hard to capture this...

Here are some of her works which greatly inspire me:

She is the real deal. I'm going to start collecting her paintings because a rare talent like her doesn't come along very often in life. I gave her STEEM because I know that the business side of being of an artist is the worst thing ever. Come to think of it, I know this so well, I feel sorry for anyone like myself, who is unable to focus much or any attention on "business matters" due to the overwhelmingly strong imagination, that really does take over one's life, and make things impossible to handle. In some ways, I think that great artists are lost in their own minds.......but it is my belief that visionaries should be the ones directing the flow of human society.....

The truth of all of this is that I was forced to write..........being jobless in 2013, i was desperate to find any kind of work. I applied to over 300 jobs, and the only one that hired me (as a volunteer writer) was startup company who needed writers. Before then, I always thought of myself as a visual artist....having the "creative gene" take over my life to such a degree that I could barely manage to stay at any job for very long without going mad. Repetitive task are my nightmare, and most jobs are full of repeitition. Daydreaming was my only escape, and I did this activity to the fullest. At the very end of my working career, I searched out jobs that would allow my mind to be free: security guard, driver, etc. It was the only way for me to be free.....

Merry Christmas to all (I have no idea why I celebrate Christmas as an atheist, but doing this holiday as a custom for my entire life.....)

Here's to 2018 and another year doing the Planet Steem thing,
Stella

(let's all encourage Alexandra to upload to DTube so we can see her painting in action)
