Shopping! Shopping! Shopping! I am always excited at the idea of getting new items be it household items or personal items or even work items, getting something new makes me happy. I am not a shopaholic though I love to shop new things when the opportunity arises, I love shopping because of the experience whether it is offline or online shopping, which brings us to the topic of discussion today: * **ONLINE SHOPPING ~vs~ PHYSICAL SHOPPING** Physical shopping was the order of the day way before the rise of the internet and all its added advantages, one of those advantages being online shopping. * **Shopping online** *** [Source](https://unsplash.com/photos/W1B2LpQOBxA) *** I won't deny that I love the comfort and ease of placing orders online (it makes me feel awesome), plus the easy delivery at my doorstep feels great too. Another reason I shopped online was the diversity involved in the online market. Because it's online, there's more global unlimited outreach than there is when buying physically. Traders, companies and businesses alike are able to interact with customers and buyers from all over the world which improves customer experience for the customers and business credibility for the companies and traders, if they're credible. When shopping online, I have the option of shopping outside my country and still have it delivered to me in my country whenever I need it. There are usually a lot of options to choose from, especially from the comfort of my home without having to go through the stress of shopping physically. Even with all these advantages, the internet is usually not the safest place to place an order especially if it involves a huge sum of money. Internet fraudsters and greedy and dishonest vendors have duped a lot of unsuspecting customers who decided to put their trust in the stores online which led them to losing their money to total strangers. This is quite rampant in my country especially with the case of *"What I ordered vs what I got"*, which is what a lot of customers who frequently shop online complain about. Sometimes those fraudulent traders get called out on social media which alerts everyone on how shady they have been treating customers and in some extreme cases, they get taken to court. This is done by those who can afford to go through the process of getting their money back or their money's worth. Unfortunately, not everyone has the resources or even the means to either go to court or carry out a social media reveal. Personally it's quite a lot of stress which I believe can be avoided sometimes by… * **Shopping in person** Going to shops in person searching for what you'd like or whatever it is you really want has more advantages than shopping online. Though it is quite stressful roaming the market and stores in search of what you would like to buy, I still prefer it to online shopping. *** [Source](https://unsplash.com/photos/c9FQyqIECds) *** Physical shopping gives me the opportunity to properly access the goods, for example I'm getting a new shoe. I'd be able to try it on in the presence of the trader to see if it fits perfectly not just my feet, but whatever outfit I'd want to wear with it. I'd also be able to negotiate a fair price with the trader and if I find the price is over my budget, I go on to find a better price until I get my money's worth. Getting something great I purchased physically gives me great joy and a sense of fulfillment. *** [Source](https://unsplash.com/photos/4bC1Ef88OYI) *** It means I spent my money well. Plus, I wouldn't have to pay a fee for delivery because I'd carry everything to my doorstep myself. Physical shopping enables me to interact with traders and it gives me a sense of the price ranges of products which helps me curtail excess buying or over paying without knowing (something I have been a victim of several times due to greedy traders), and also to make friends for the future. **Why Do I Prefer Physical Shopping?** I am used to getting what I want for myself and as a result shopping online is usually not the first option when it comes to buying. I go out to shop for whatever I want and if I can't find it in any store in the market, I then proceed to search online on credible online stores though their credibility isn't one hundred percent, but it'll be because I have no other option. It's physical shopping for me anytime and any day! *** Thank you for reading! 🛒
