 [made with Canva](www.canva.com)  One of the things that makes hive different is the staked hive system. A system where part of your earnings is staked automatically. It's brilliant. I've had a rather difficult rise in my Hive power but it has being steady, and it has being growing. I'm all about spreading love and supporting people, touching lives. Though a big chunk of my Hive Power is delegated as I earn curation rewards with the as a side hustle, but I did leave part of my HP so I could still curate a share a bit of love. I mainly focus on my curating duties to achieve my goal. Hive power up day is a very important day for me. The first day of the month, albeit we have power up month now, still the power up day is a very significant day. The day when most Hivers come together in unison to power up some hive, stop power down and other stuff. I also noticed that during that time, the hive price rises a bit, haha. Up until today, I haven't participated in the power day for a long while, partly due to the fact that I've being trading my hive for fiat. It has being somewhat a difficult time for me but I'm thankful nonetheless. Do today, being a new year as well as a new month, I decided to participate.    I had plans of powering up 20 hive but I had to gift part of it to someone who needed it more than I do. I eventually powered up 14 hive. The hive is mostly from earnings from my curation work and a small part from the delegations I currently do. I tried using the peakd tool to see my hive power hart but it was difficult to use and it wouldn't show me from the beginning of the year. I only went as far as Oct. As at then I had 2500 hive power. As of today I have 2970. That is not bad at all. I did have a goal of getting to 3k give power before 2021 ends but I didn't meet the goal. To be fair, I'm not so keen on setting goals. I think its put a bit of pressure on us and makes us loose sight of other things, or maybe I'm just a lazy f*ck.   I also got a message from hivebuzz that I have participated in the power up day. At some point I thought the day was over, haha. It's a pretty small hive to power up but you know what they say, little drops of water makes the might ocean. I would also try to power up more consistently. Well, thank you for reading. The power up day is not over yet. If you haven't powered up, you should. Not only do you increase your stake but you also get to earn sweet curation rewards. Pppffttt. You probably knew that already.
