Those who have read the post about the death of my graphics card will already have context, I found myself in a difficult situation in which it was a pretty bad time for my GTX 1070 to die, but if you want more details read the post.

It was simply impossible for me to buy another graphics card out of nowhere, I needed something capable of doing competent 3D modeling so I could continue with the course I am studying, despite that, @victorcsrt and @eliudgnzlz advised me very well and calmed me down a lot by telling me that my integrated graphics were enough, at least for the moment, to do basic things in Blender, and that's what I did, I kept working with my integrated graphics in the best way possible, but I got a message from heaven, a Valkyrie came down and said to me "Do you want money?", And I replied "YES".

Seriously, I was lucky enough that a relative looked for me and it was in their power to help me out, they lent me some money and I took all my Hive savings to look for the best possible gpu, I needed something competent and with a lot of VRAM, but in my country gpus from the 2000, 3000 and 4000 series are expensive as HELL, as is normal, and although my wet dream was to buy an RTX 3060, it was too much money to make the purchase right now.

Eli suggested that I buy another 1070 and recommended a store to me, it was the option I was going to take because I've already had a 1070 and I know how competent it is, I love that graphics card and now with the prices it comes out "cheap", compared for example to one of the 3000 series, but looking for second-hand graphics cards I found one that caught my attention.

You may think that a second-hand graphics card is a bad option, given my previous one, and you may be right, because you never know what they've done to a graphics card until it dies in your hands, not all sellers are honest, you know how the second-hand market is, especially those who live in Venezuela.

It was then that I saw a specific gpu in Marketplace and said "YOU", that day I had to travel to the capital to continue my course and the seller was from there so it came in handy, I texted him, I shot him with questions, I asked for tests, I took all my precautions, and in less than 6 hours I had my new baby in my arms, but, I know I know, can you PLEASE SHOW THE DAMNED GPU?, of course

I remember seeing graphics like this at sky-high prices last year, it was unthinkable for my wallet and it still is, but with the price drops and the loan they gave me it became a possibility, I won't see the light of day in 4 months of work, but well, minor details.

But well, I arrived from my trip, I opened my case, I installed the new graphics card, and to test it, I still had the drivers installed so I didn't have to do any major procedures before testing it, it took the two monitors well, and its fans work perfectly, in fact, I can use my pc with the graphics card with the fans turned off and the temperature will not rise sharply as it did with the 1070 I had before, and when I'm going to play something heavier the fans turn on of course.

Obviously, I needed the gpu for the 3D modeling issue but I would lie if I said I wasn't going to test it with games to see what the performance difference is, and the truth is it seems crazy to me the games it runs, that is, my 1070 already ran everything decently, but the 1080 is perfect to play everything in 1080p and 60 fps, so I am more than satisfied.

I premiered this gpu with the Final Fantasy VII Remake, and I could turn everything to the maximum without thinking it too much, the temperature remained very well and below 65 degrees, more than excellent for a gpu of these features and that the fans are not at their maximum capacity, and considering that with the same game my 1070 reached 82 degrees, it is a true difference, again, completely satisfied.

And that would be all, I'll leave you some captures of random things I've used to test the gpu and see how everything goes, for the moment I'm very happy and I hope it goes better with this one than with the 1070, it never worked badly but its lifespan seems unacceptable to me despite being second handed, unfortunately they are things that are difficult to predict, anyway.

Hermanos (y hermanas), hoy es un día de júbilo, un día de celebración, un día en el que, de ser vikingos, estaríamos todos en una mesa con un festín de dioses, comiendo y bebiendo hasta que nuestras panzas vikingas no puedan con más comida, o bueno, al menos lo es para mi, por el título ya saben a lo que vengo, así que, por favor, acompáñenme.


Quienes hayan leído el post sobre la muerte de mi gráfica ya tendrán contexto, me vi en una situación difícil en la cual era un momento bastante malo para que muriese mi GTX 1070, pero si quieren más detalles lean el post.

Simplemente comprar otra gráfica de la nada era imposible para mi, necesitaba algo capaz de hacer modelados 3D de manera competente y así poder continuar con el curso que estoy estudiando, a pesar de eso, @victorcsrt y @eliudgnzlz me aconsejaron muy bien y me calmaron mucho al decirme que mis integrados eran suficientes, al menos por el momento, para hacer cosas básicas en Blender, y eso hice, seguí trabajando con mis integrados de la mejor manera posible, pero me llegó un mensaje del cielo, una Valkiria bajó y me dijo “¿quieres dinero?”, y yo le respondí “YES”.

Ya en serio, tuve la fortuna de un familiar se apiadó de mi y estuvo en sus posibilidades echarme una mano, me prestó algo de dinero y yo tomé todos mis ahorros de Hive para buscar la mejor gráfica posible, necesitaba algo competente y con mucha VRAM, pero en mi país gráficas de la serie 2000, 3000 y 4000 cuestan muchísimo, como es normal, y aunque mi sueño mojado era comprarme una RTX 3060, era demasiado dinero como para hacer la compra justo ahora.

Eli me sugirió comprar otra 1070 y me recomendó una tienda, era la opción que iba a tomar pues ya he tenido una 1070 y sé lo competente que es, amo esa gráfica y ahora con los precios pues sale “barata”, comparada por ejemplo a una de la serie 3000, pero buscando entre gráficas de segunda mano encontré una que llamó fuertemente mi atención.

Quizá piensen que una gráfica de segunda mano es una mala opción, dado mi precedente, y podrían tener razón, porque nunca sabes qué le han hecho a una gráfica hasta que se te muere en las manos, no todos los vendedores son sinceros, ya saben como es el mercado de segunda mano, especialmente quienes viven en Venezuela.

Fue entonces cuando vi una gráfica específica en Marketplace y dije “TÚ”, ese día tenía que viajar a la capital a seguir con mi curso y el vendedor era de allá así que me vino de perlas, le escribí, lo fusilé de preguntas, le pedí pruebas, tomé todas mis previsiones, y en menos de 6 horas tenía a mi nuevo bebé entre mis brazos, pero, ¿cuál es la desgraciada gráfica?

Recuerdo haber visto gráficas como esta a precios desorbitados el año pasado, era inadmisible para mi bolsillo y lo sigue siendo, pero con los bajones de precio y el préstamo que me hicieron se volvió una posibilidad, no voy a ver la luz del sol en 4 meses de trabajo, pero bueno, detalles mínimos.

Pero bueno, que llegué de mi viaje, abrí mi gabinete, instalé la nueva gráfica, y a probarla, aún tenía los drivers instalados así que no tuve que hacer mayores trámites antes de probarla, tomó bien los dos monitores, y sus ventiladores funcionan perfectamente, de hecho, puedo utilizar mi pc con la gráfica con los ventiladores apagados y la temperatura no subirá estrepitosamente como sí ocurría con la 1070 que tenía antes, y ya cuando voy a jugar algo más pesado sí se encienden.

Obviamente, yo necesitaba la gráfica por el tema del modelado 3D pero mentiría si dijera que no voy a probarla con juegos a ver que tal la diferencia de rendimiento, y la verdad me parece una locura los juegos que corre, es decir, mi 1070 ya corría todo decentemente, pero la 1080 es perfecta para jugar todo en 1080p y 60 fps, por lo que estoy más que satisfecha.

Estrené esta gráfica con el Final Fantasy VII Remake, y pude subir todo al máximo sin mayores peros, la temperatura se mantenía muy bien y por debajo de los 65 grados, más que excelente para una gráfica de estas prestaciones y eso que los ventiladores no están a su máxima capacidad, y considerando que con el mismo juego mi 1070 llegaba a los 82 grados, es una verdadera diferencia, nuevamente, completamente satisfecha.

Y eso sería todo, les dejaré algunas capturas de cosas random que he utilizado para probar la gráfica y ver que tal va todo, de momento estoy muy feliz y espero que me vaya mejor con esta que con la 1070, nunca funcionó mal pero su tiempo de vida me parece inaceptable a pesar de ser usada, lamentablemente son cosas que es difícil prever, en fin.

Esta ha sido mi nueva gráfica, quiero como siempre agradecer por el apoyo ya que de otra forma no habría sido posible llegar a la 1080 y definitivamente será una mejora importante en mi pc, me considero afortunada, que si no pago va a venir la mafia a por mi cabeza, pero eso es un tema aparte.
