All New Look What I Found!
It's been a while since I posted a **Look What I Found** post. In this curation series I like to give a collection of recently found posts and/or steemians which I thought deserved to be shared. Thinking about it, it becomes quite obvious that this kind of manual curation is the perfect thing for the #newsteem... or vice versa.

As these kinda things usually go, this morning I even received an additional boost towards turning this thought into an actual post, by reading @pennsif's [Thinking Out Loud](https://steempeak.com/steem/@pennsif/thinking-out-loud-2-a-10-year-vision-live-chats-and-a-bit-more-curation) post. In it he follows the same reasoning I've gone through, that curating a post by giving it an upvote is good, resteeming it better, but by summarizing it in a post, written specifically for curation, you give the author as well as a post itself additional exposure. This is what **Look What I Found** is all about.

Since a post stops accumulating rewards after seven days, I don't want to go back too far. Instead, I'd like to share some of the highlights of the last few days that appeared in my feed and elsewhere on Steem I ventured.

## A Dream of a Mushroom Log

Don't you love it when an idea just presents as like the perfect opportunity to a given situation? Isn't it even more fun when we get to inspire each other with awesome ideas? This is kinda what happened when I saw the recent posts by @flemingfarm, in which he documented his recent adventure of [cutting down a huge tree behind his house](https://steempeak.com/actifit/@flemingfarm/actifit-flemingfarm-20191001t150935967z). An impressive actifit report card and a massive load of firewood later, the question remained: [What to do with the stump?](https://steempeak.com/actifit/@flemingfarm/actifit-flemingfarm-20191004t040531795z) For me it seemed to be a perfect opportunity to inoculate it with some delicious mushrooms. We exchanged a few comments about it, and I was super psyched to see that @flemingfarm was just as excited about the idea as me. He even wrote a [post about ordering the mushroom plugs](https://steempeak.com/actifit/@flemingfarm/actifit-flemingfarm-20191005t045111097z).

If you don't know @flemingfarm you should check him out, and if you're into homesteading, sustainability and permaculture related stuff, I highly recommend a follow. I know I'm looking forward to a practical instructional posts about using the plugs on the log, and eventually harvesting the mushrooms once the first flush rolls in, probably next spring.

## Amazing Permie Videos by @paulwheaton

Do you know @paulwheaton? Neither did I, until this morning. Which is surprising, considering the incredible videos he has published on a wide array of subjects, all of which Permaculture related in one form or another. His latest one is about a [rocket water heater](https://steempeak.com/homesteading/@paulwheaton/off-grid-rocket-water-heater-and-showers), which should deserve a mention on its own. His previous posts are about [building a hügelkultur](https://steempeak.com/homesteading/@paulwheaton/building-a-7-foot-tall-hugelkultur-bed-for-a-pep-bb), [doing some roundwood carpentry](https://steempeak.com/homesteading/@paulwheaton/building-a-simple-road-gate), and [building a pond](https://steempeak.com/homesteading/@paulwheaton/sealing-a-pond-without-a-liner). This dude seems to be an amazing beacon of info, which makes it weird that I haven't seen his posts before. If you feel the same, go ahead and visit his profile!

## Street art and Botanics from Bulgaria

Finally I'd like to draw your attention to @myfreshes. I first noticed this steemian for the cool murals they presented. But it seems like graffiti is only part of their passion. They seem to be just as fond of plants as about all types of art. In [posts like this one](https://steempeak.com/nature/@myfreshes/hedera-helix) they present botanical information along with some talented photography, from such usual plants as the [Hedera helix or common ivy](https://steempeak.com/nature/@myfreshes/hedera-helix) to less familiar ones, such as the [Cerastinum alpinum, or alpine chickweed](https://steempeak.com/nature/@myfreshes/cerastium-alpinum-or-alpiiski-rozhec). So anyone who's into nature, art, and cool photos, @myfreshes is certainly worth taking a look at.

So that's it for today, but stay tuned for more recommended posts and authors in my next **Look What I Found** post, hopefully next week.
