Upgrading My Moonkart

Since my initial test of Moonkart's gameplay, I was wondering how what's the best approach cost-wise to improve the performance of my kart. I'ved looked into the marketplace and I saw that while there were items listed for sale, the higher rarity ones, epics and legendaries, were very few and very expensive.

So I decided to first try out my luck and buy an Alpha Centauri pack. There were still over 400,000 packs on sale in the in-game shop for five dollars. And luckily enough, just like Splinterland's DEC, the SCRIPT tokens were stablecoins with 1 SCRIPT valued at a dollar. So instead of paying using credits, I opted to use 5 SCRIPT tokens instead which is valued at $2.95. That's a 41% discount at current market prices.

So I immediately opened my new pack and was surprised to see two additional common pilots, which I now have three in total. I was really looking for a higher rarity NFTs.

One of the two rares that I've gotten from the pack is a body enhancement. It increases my health which I did not know was a thing in moonkarts. I don't know what will happen if my health is depleted during a race but I guess I can find out once I've played in multiplayer mode.

Another rare that I got is smooth pulse which increases speed by 7.9 points. I guess speed is a really important stat especially in a racing game, but from what I've experienced so far, I needed to increase the handling stat more as getting hit in the edges or during tight corners can slow you down significantly.

As for my driver, I had to pick Blaze among the three commons that I had as he has the best in handling. The speed stats that I got from the accessories can compensate for the weak speed but the main problem now would be acceleration.

Now for the actual test in single player mode, I've seen a slight improvement in the speed of my kart but again, the problem lies with turning corners. I guess I would need higher rarity setup to significantly increase my handling and be at least somewhat competitive enough for the play-to-earn aspect of Moonkart. But overall, as my second look into this game, I can see how well-polished the graphics really is, and it has an appeal that grows on me. I'd probably buy another pack next time and hopefully get the parts that I need.
