# My thoughts on this news
Trump and the Republicans ordered a week long FBI investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Kavanaugh.  They basically had no choice, because of the huge backlash some Republicans were not willing to vote for him without the investigation, so they did not have enough votes.  This is a lose, lose for the Republicans, in my opinion this guy is guilty as hell.  The way he spoke and behaved during the hearing is textbook behavior of a guilty person.  The only logical thing to do is an FBI investigation so the Republicans can at least save some shred of dignity.  If they were to vote him in without an investigation and a week or months later more witnesses and evidence is revealed the Republican party would forever be known for electing a rapist into the supreme court without an investigation.
