Use your environment!
Lush bushes, low hanging branches are the best. Put your model right in there, blur out the background and add some foreground elements.
Notice the plant in her hair? I put it there.

Command her to do something borderline weird and funny. Break the ice! Be ready to capture a genuine expression once it happens.

Find a great background. A great background is already a great picture on it's own :P
Now just put your model there and have her look natural = tell her to look around and into the camera on command. 
Also, communicate! Talk!

Use smoke for added effect.
And don't forget to think about the picture as a whole. Where are the lines leading, where should your model look and do, depending on what kind of a picture you want :P
