This is the old railway station in Kuala Lumpur, which has been in operation since 1885. Interestingly, the station has been upgraded with modern facilities without compromising its original architecture. It continues to be preserved as one of Malaysia’s most iconic historical landmarks.

According to [Independent Travellers](https://www.independent-travellers.com/malaysia/ktm/), the KTM building in Kuala Lumpur is a great example of unique architecture. It combines Moorish, Ottoman, and Mughal styles from the 13th and 14th centuries with Gothic and ancient Greek elements. This reflects a mix of local and foreign influences, known as the "Raj" or Indo-Saracenic style. It also includes features from Mughal architecture in India and European styles like Neo-Classical, Neo-Gothic, and Neo-Renaissance—making it truly stand out.

In 1995, KTM began using electric trains, which were more environmentally friendly, faster, and more comfortable compared to the older diesel trains. While it may not compete directly with the latest train systems in Kuala Lumpur, KTM has continued to operate successfully as an alternative mode of public transport. It remains a much more affordable and convenient option compared to other services like e-hailing

I wish I had extra time to walk around the building and take more outstanding photos, but since I was also waiting for the train to arrive, I guess that will have to be a mission for the future.
