<html> <p>My witness is name is 'steemgigs' and now runs the soft-fork 222. I updated my witness late mostly to look at how events play out and to make a decision. The parameters of the fork prevents the use of the Steemit INC stake, now in the possession of Justin Sun from carrying out the following actions:</p> <ul><li>Voting for Witnesses</li><li>Setting their witness voting proxy</li><li>Voting on Steem Proposals</li><li>Voting on posts</li><li>Powering down SP / Powering up STEEM</li><li>Transferring STEEM/SBD to accounts / transferring to savings</li><li>Creating orders on the internal market</li></ul> <p> Looking at the list above, i feel that the first 4 parameters are sufficient at this stage (timely), considering that Justin Sun is new to Steemit, among other reasons; while the last 3 parameters aren't so timely.</p> <p>Even though this a revertable soft-fork, it still needs a concensus to be reverted and consensus isn't always promised. As easy as consensus came about to effect the change, doesn't mean that there will be concensus for the change to be reverted.</p> <p>I also feel that Justin Sun's attention may have been obtained without this measure and while it appears that Justin Sun has responded to the change by calling for a meeting, it is a possible that the soft-fork didn't trigger his response.</p> <p>Even though nothing Justin Sun has promised is tangible, i feel that patience was needed in tackling this as he only recently bought Steemit. </p> <p>Altogether, deterring the Steemit accounts from voting on witnesses, content and proposals is measure enough at this stage. Deterring transfers, power-downs etc isn't very timely.</p> <p>In any case, i am here for steem and the community's collective voice is what counts.
