( Proverbs 1:4 ). But it was also written by him for the mature and wise, so that they could attain greater learning to understanding and applying these words in this book. So reader if you want to attain to wise counsels, then study these proverbs and their interpretations. Would you like to be wise? Then here is the way reader! Proverbs need interpretation as they are the dark sayings of wise men. But the effort put in to understanding them is very well worth it because you'll receive wise advice and obtain greater learning. As mentioned before in earlier posts, do you want to attain wise counsil? Then make sure you understand King Solomon's proverbs in this book, and make sure you learn the words of the wise and their dark sayings. Then you will obtain or attain wise counsil dear reader. People will come to *you* for help in life matters because you would have acquired wisdom and understanding. How do you attain unto wise counsil and how do you increase your learning you might ask. By *hearing!*. Men who are understanding and wise must even themselves stop thinking and talking in order to listen so *they* can become wiser. Does your age or your current wisdom matter regarding this? NO! You must *hear* instruction from other people if you want to learn more or attain to the counsels of wise men. Reader therefore humble yourself before these inspired written proverbs and receive wise counsel and learning! The choice is yours dear reader. Wisdom isn't acquired by the mouth. No, it is acquired by *the ears*. After all, you have one mouth but two ears. Reader, be swift to hear, but slow to speak. ( James 1:19 ). What do foolish men do? They want to speak rather than listen, because they want to show others their "wisdom". A wise man however will close his mouth, and he will open his ears, so that he will hear the instruction from his teachers and in essence gain their wisdom. The young and simple are foolish and impatient, therefore listening for them is hard. Children think they know more than their parents, which make them self-deceived. They want to teach their elders but they do not even have experience or understanding. *How foolish indeed!* But alas dear reader, older men also have a problem with listening at times, because even they value their experience too highly. But great men understand the times we live in, and they know what ought to be done. ( 1 Chronicles 12:32 ). When they see changing circumstances they know what response to choose that will please both God and men. But at birth even they were foolish and ignorant, how did they come to this illustrious position? Reader they *listen* and they *learn* from their two primary teachers, namely **parents** and **pastors**! The bible is full of wisdom for this life and eternity, which is inspired by The Living God. He also sent pastors and parents to teach the bible to those who would receive it and listen! What will you do dear reader? Will you remain ignorant and fall victim to life's perils and circumstances, or will you receive the wisdom and instruction that has been given to you? The choice is yours.
