So i was in a relationship with this guy for 3 years or rather i assumed i was in a relationship with him,he was so kind and loving, caring and sweet, i loved him so much that i always fantasize myself getting pregnant for him, that was to tell you how much i loved him . I can tell you have being to all the cinemas in ibadan, i had all the recepit of almost all the eatary in my purse,ralph was such a darling, he knows when you want to make out, he knows when you want to talk or need something, omg! i could tell God specially made him on the 7th day when he was resting, i loved ralph so much, did i mention,he was cute, tall with a dark soft skin, his hair was curled to the back  and i often wonder if he has being using baby oil right from his mother’s womb.

But something was wrong, ralph has not talked to me about meeting my parents, it was getting too long, after i have been with this guy for 3 years, pls abeg o me i want to get married, after we get back from our outing the next day, i am going to pour out my mind to him, he has to come and see my parents.

So as planned, the next day, we went to watch a very interesting movie. Ralph was looking so sweet, all the ladies were staring at him,after we were done with the movie, Ralph wanted us to go else where, but i told him, i would prefer we go to his house and as usual and he agreed with me .

So we got home, then he was watching a football match, he was shouting at the top of his voice, pass now ohhh,throw the ball, the normal football, i was laughing, telling him to go and enter the television now, while i was eating the left over popcorn we were given at the cinema which i was unable to finish, trust ladies i tucked it in my handbag. Then i rememberd i wanted to discuss something with him.......

Ralph i called,he answered yes ma, giving me that sweet smile i always admire, when are you going  to come see my parents?, he was like parents for what!hanhan see you ooo its being over 3 years we have being together o come and see my parents and come take me away, i cant wait to be urs fully, then he replied, but babe shey you know we are not dating,what!!!!!,the porn corn in my hand fell down, while the pop corn in my mouth got swallowed immediately, what do you mean we are not dating? all the going out together, cooking for you, travelling with you and all of that stuffs, what does it mean,hanhan,we are just best friends oo he replied..

You must be mad Ralph i said, then the discussion was getting tensed, i gave you my heart, my soul, my everything, what do you mean we are just friends?  Then his facial expression changed to the most serious look i have ever seen, the looks he always put on whenever his mum and his dad are at it again ,and i mean having issues, Mercy, wait what the hell are you saying, i dont have feelings for you, i mean we were just friends (immediately he crowned me olori of the friend association). Ralph you are crazy, you are an idiot, what did you take me for, all these years i was always there for you, i cooked for you, cleaned the house, i gave you everything even my body i was already crying, Mercy, when did i ask you out?, all those going out, eating together, were just for the fun of it ,i was about to tell you my girlfriend is coming from London tomorrow. Mercy pls we are not dating, i never asked you out,though i like you but not to the dating extent, i did not see a future in us. Hearing this words,i picked up my bag and ran out, he followed me but then i was gone

I did not go home  because i knew he would surely come, i ran to an hotel and booked  a room, even the receptionist knew something was wrong, madam what is wrong, she asked, nothing i said disappearing almost immediately. I got to my room, switched off my phone, fell on the ground and cried, i cried my eyes off. After 1 hour of crying, rain started falling then i knew heaven must have felt my pain, oh my God, i cried and lamented, Ralph, how could ralph do this to me, after all the time we have spent together, i mean how could he be so callous, oh my God! then my mind flew back to something he said, he did not ask me out, wow that was true, he did not ask me out, i tried hard to remember when he ask me out, but nothing was forthcoming then reality dawned on me, he had not ask out, i had assumed........

**Define your relationship with your lover now"**, dont assume that you are in a relationship, ask to know  your stand in a relationship before its too late. The fact that a guy is taking you out, buying chocolates, taking you to all eataries in the whole world does not mean he is dating you. The fact that she is cooking for you,she buy gifts for your family members even for your great grand parent does not mean she is dating you, know your stand now.

Dont let somebody come and cage you in the name of best friend, if anyone is trying to come close to you, be bold enough to ask what do you really want from me. Assumption can be very disaterous in a relationship, dont always assume he or she loves you, if actually he has not told you whether he does or she does.

When it comes to relationship, its best to know whether you belong in or out, it will be very painful if after you have spent your time, resource and even emotions you then discover you belong outside her heart. That it was all but a joke. Know your stand know, when it comes to relationship, be wise and smart.

Dont assume you are dating someone when the person has not ask you out, its cool to be friends first, but as times go out be sharp or quick to ask, brother are we dating?,or sister are you the one for me? ,life is too short to waste.

Relationship is a very beautiful thing if you are with the right person. To my dear readers ask now, know your stand now, dont let anyone come and push you to ONE CORNER
