¿Quién a corta edad puede entender si quiera para qué sirve eso? Sin embargo, como fui una niña obediente (obediencia también aprendida) solía seguir los lineamientos de mi madre, y es sólo ahora, un montón de años después, es que puedo precisar el impacto que esa práctica ha tenido en mí.

Cuando se vive bajo esa premisa, cada decisión que se toma está muy bien pensada, se han proyectado los riesgos y se ha analizado su probabilidad de concretarse. Sólo entonces se inicia cualquier proyecto, que incluye algo tan simple como leer un libro; si pienso que no podré terminarlo porque estoy muy atareada, no lo comienzo.  Y si lo empiezo y no me gusta, igual lo termino, porque para mí es una forma de vida, me da más satisfacción concretar, que abandonar.

En mi experiencia, culminar las tareas propuestas es determinante en la formación del carácter,  tener el buen hábito de iniciar algo...y finalizarlo - aunque en el camino pensemos que el resultado no es el que esperábamos.

En la infancia iniciamos la escuela primaria y logramos avanzar grado tras grado hasta llegar al sexto año y alcanzar la ansiada promoción a la secundaria, y entonces ir al liceo y ponernos orgullosos nuestra franela azul y seguir avanzando hasta pasar al cuarto año y lograr nuestra camisa beige. Entonces empezamos a soñar con ir a la universidad y olvidarnos del uniforme, llevar maquillaje  y tacones (en mis tiempos de estudiante, al menos en el lugar donde vivía, era poco común usarlos antes de la universidad).

Pero vamos a ser honestos, este logro es debido a la insistencia de nuestros padres de que debemos estudiar (cada quien con su mejor argumento) y de su impulso constante hasta  alcanzar la meta (para ellos, que lleguemos a "ser alguien",  y para nosotros, llegar a  graduarnos). ¿Cuánta resistencia no pusimos muchas veces? ¿Cuántas veces lo hicimos sólo para evitar un castigo? ¿Acaso de niños entendíamos a dónde ésto nos llevaría?. Quizás se nos aclaró el panorama después de más de la mitad del recorrido,  pero en principio sólo sabíamos que habíamos comenzado a estudiar y que el final de esa meta era el título universitario (bueno, los que tuvimos la suerte de tener esa clase de padres).

¿Y cuáles fueron los principales valores aprendidos durante esa etapa de nuestras vidas? - *Principalmente constancia, perseverancia, integridad, honestidad.* ¿Y acaso no son ellos pilares fundamentales de  nuestra fortaleza?, ¿de nuestra capacidad de alcanzar nuestros objetivos de manera limpia y de valorar nuestros logros? - *Yo diría que sí.*

> *And what were the main values learned during this stage of our lives?  Mainly constancy, perseverance, integrity, honesty.  And aren't they the fundamental pillars of our strength, of our ability to achieve our objectives in a fair manner and to value our achievements?  I'd say so, yes.*

Recuerdo que en una antigua publicación les insto a "dar el primer paso",  pues para que ese esfuerzo no se pierda, debemos seguir caminando hasta llegar a la meta, así alcancemos el último lugar.  Siempre debemos batallar e ir cerrando ciclos.

> *I would remind you that in an old publication I urge you to take the first step', but for that effort is not to be lost, we must keep on walking until we reach the finish line, though we reach the last place.    We must always struggle and close cycles.*

Y nadie ha dicho que sea fácil, en la vida generalmente encontramos obstáculos,  que no nos permiten avanzar (creemos nosotros). No te  rindas, no abandones tu objetivo,  el grado de difilcutad que enfrentes, lo ganarás en fortaleza, en capacidad para resolver situaciones cada vez más complejas. Siempre aborda cada batalla desde la perspectiva de cómo hacer para ganarla. Mi madre también me enseñó que todo lo que otro ser humano puede hacer, también yo puedo hacerlo, eso me ayudó mucho.

> *And no one has said that it is easy, in life we usually encounter obstacles, which do not allow us to move forward (we believe).  Do not give up, do not abandon your objective, the degree of difficulty that you face, you will gain it in strength, in ability to solve increasingly complex situations.  He always approaches each battle from the perspective of how to win it.  My mother also taught me that everything that another human being can do, I can do too, that helped me a lot.*

Es imprescindible apoyarse en Dios, pedirle fuerzas para levantarte y continuar tu cruzada. Con FE debemos buscar hacer realidad  nuestros sueños.  Los tropiezos de la vida no deben ser frenos para no lograrlo, por el contrario deben ser retos a superar. ¿Cuántos  personajes, ahora famosos, no han tenido caídas en su transitar hacia el éxito de sus carreras?, pero según el testimonio de muchos de ellos, la constancia, dedicación y preparación, han sido factores que los han llevado hacia el triunfo. 

> *It is essential to lean on God, to ask Him for the strength to raise you up and continue your crusade. With FAITH we must seek to make our dreams come true.    Life's setbacks should not be obstacles to not achieving it, but challenges to overcome. Debemos estar conscientes de que el éxito no se logra de la noche a la mañana, los deportistas de primer nivel dedican muchas horas de entrenamiento con preparación especial para llegar y mantenerse en su máximo rendimiento,  igualmente los músicos y los artistas en general. Ellos no tienen suerte, tienen una voluntad inquebrantable de alcanzar sus metas y cumplir sus sueños.

> *We must be aware that success is not achieved overnight, top-level athletes spend many hours of training with special preparation to reach and maintain their peak performance, equally musicians and artists in general.
