We went directly on our way back to Penang by car after visiting [Kellie's Castle in Batu Gajah, Perak](https://ecency.com/hive-141359/@tampilyne/kellie-s-castle-tour-inside). For my family and me, a half-day or a full-day trip to Perak wasn't enough time. There are still many heritage places in Perak that we haven't visited. The majority of heritage places and museums are closed on public holidays or during our visit to Perak on the first day of 2023. Maybe the business owner or operator of these attraction places did not want too many visitors to their place such as [Qing Xin Ling Leisure and Cultural Village](https://thesimpletravel.com/qing-xin-ling-leisure-and-cultural-village/). This is the place I want to visit the most and a place not suitable for crowd to visit (possibility the crowd can easily destroy the nature of this place). Another reason is the employees will be getting triple pay based on their daily salary by their employers, which will result in a financial burden for small business operators. Can't get enough of visiting Perak. In my future travel plan, I will set 2 or 3 days of staying in Perak in order to visit most of the tourist attractions we are interested in. Back to my story during our journey back to Georgetown, Penang, where our accommodation located for our vacation. After spending over 2 hours and 30 minutes driving from Perak to Penang, we reached Penang. Before heading a return to our accommodation, we stopped by at IKEA Mall in Penang, for my Brother to have a rest from driving for long hours. Meanwhile, we also did window shopping inside this mall as this is our first time visiting IKEA Mall, Penang. In our hometown in Sabah, there is no IKEA Mall in our place.
https://images.ecency.com/DQmRtmssCMHPS9gjM1oVBGzyaZSYqjMRZByFNT5iHftAZHr/20230101_191605.jpg *On our way entering IKEA Mall after parking our rented car*
My first impression was that IKEA Mall only sells furniture and home appliances, and maybe with restaurants for refreshment. However, this mall also has other shops such as 7Evelen, sportwear, telco, water purifiers, and others. Further, as this IKEA Mall is quite large and spacious, my second impression was that the furniture and appliances would be displayed in a warehouse setting, but that was not the case. IKEA have displayed the goods in a unique way or in a home exhibition setting.
https://images.ecency.com/DQme22rSftpMyg9bDpi443Ef88vgsV655tZzezF8pbgS8t2/20230101_192534.jpg *Going to another floor for a tour at IKEA's home exhibition*
I did not have any pictures to show you all on how the home exhibition looks like as it is not allowed to take pictures inside. I only can describe the home exhibition giving inspiration for potential customers how their home is going to be decorated based on their display and also attract them to purchase their goods. Many computers have been provided in every corner of each room type sections inside. These computers are not for sale but for the customers using to buy the goods directly and pay online immediately. Although we have some goods we would like to purchase, we did not buy anything in IKEA. We prefer to buy the furniture and home appliances at our hometown as it cost more cheaper or no surcharge on delivery cost for large items from Penang to Sabah.
https://images.ecency.com/DQmbxc5cha24bLbFhv1GgiW3b93FVVpp7NQPTjGL4VBngND/20230101_200126.jpg *We have to use this lift to exit the IKEA's home exhibition*
We had bought an excessive amount of food to eat including for dinner from [Concubine Lane, Ipoh Perak.](https://ecency.com/hive-141359/@tampilyne/eat-and-walk-around-concubine) However, we cannot resist going into and eating at one of the restaurants in IKEA mall. Another first for us to enter a Swedish Restaurant.
https://images.ecency.com/DQmQCSLkyrchmQvNCfqG5LgPdN3sx4nN8GjjpjhPc7Jh6Qr/20230101_202857.jpg *Follow this sign to Swedish Restaurant*
The restaurant is like a canteen. Customers lined up waiting for their turn to grab the food prepared on the trays and pay directly at the food counters. Many tables and chairs were provided there but all full. We managed to get a table after standing there for over 5 minutes after the previous customers left that table. In order to not let our hard earned table be occupied by other person, I sit and wait on this table seats. I am waiting for my Mum and siblings to get some food from the food counter. A few years ago, when I was in Singapore for travel, I noticed the table was already booked by only putting tissue packs on it by the citizen there. In this case, this method cannot be used in Malaysia. I think the table cleaner will probably throw away the tissue pack.
https://images.ecency.com/DQmQ7gX8f6txFtGcatATttAqXATq8Xg6T6vAWzfBeUio27F/20230101_200551.jpg *I'm waiting for my Mum and siblings on this table*
We only have a light meal here with the food that my Mum and siblings are interested in. We expected that we will have to eat more of the food in our accommodation later. We just want to taste on the Swedish cuisine (maybe).
https://images.ecency.com/DQmZbSfHXyA5FT3D5CqJ1L2r9jDJ8C6hAWQvd555moauuU8/20230101_201831.jpg *Grilled chicken wings, salads, meatballs and beverages*
There is a new year's resolution for my Mum. If she met any artist anywhere, she would like to take a picture with him/her without feeling shy. The proof is as below.
https://images.ecency.com/DQmPBtRxuDfTvTYxgBHjvdjNZeL48EE57y4aowwcAg1kQKV/20230101_203801.jpg *Mum and Korean actor*
Without visiting anywhere else to visit after our tour in IKEA Mall, we went straight back to our accommodation for rest. We cannot finish the food we bought that I mentioned just now. Eventually, we finished it the next day ๐. That's all. Thanks for reading my post ๐ค.
