I was halfway through another post when Splinterlands came out of maintenance mode and the Promo sale to celebrate the Bitcoin Halving event began. So, I dropped the keyboard and moved on over to swap for some DEC (I thought I had done it the other day already, but it seems no), transfer the vouchers (that I did buy the other day) and try my luck. Every 25 cards bought guaranteed a gold foil, however my goal was a max of each in regular. So, 11 Fyatt, 115 Enforcer. I didn't think it through though, because the guarantee on the 115 meant I had to buy some extras. But, will get to that later.  

There are two promo cards - a Legendary called *Baron Fyatt* (Bar on Fiat), and a rare called *Henchling Enforcer* - both of which have the halving ability, because you know... Bitcoin halving. At max, they have some extra abilities that make them interesting, especially under particular conditions.

# Henchling Enforcer

6 Mana, decent range hit at +4, mid-speed at 4, True Strike, Camouflage and of course Halving. Not only this, it is a duel Splinter card, playing Water and Life. The camouflage makes it an interesting card, in many respects, but of course there is a lot of scatter shot out there as well now. However, under a scatter ruleset, it might do a fair amount of halving damage.

As you can see, I got one extra gold than the guarantee, which meant I had to buy another 5 regulars in order to get a max. That is okay though, and I guess I can sell the golds later.

# Baron Fyatt

The second card is the Legendary, Fyatt. At max, it is a very interesting card, as even though it doesn't pack much of a magic punch, not only does it have the halving ability, it also has scatter shot in-built and ambush. This mean it will have a shot at halving something before the round starts. And with blind, it adds an important miss opportunity, especially when played in combination with Astral Entity or Jacek. But really, with some RNG luck (mine sucks) the real winner is the halving ability, especially in the backline where it can't be cleansed away.

Finally! Some gold pull luck! I bought 11, which meant no guarantees, and ended up with 9 + 2 GFLs. This meant I had to buy 2 more regulars for the max, but *that is fine* considering I grabbed to golds. I decided to put them on the market and recoup the costs for the event, but then a minute later took them off and staked them into a wagon instead. Depending how it plays, I might even buy some more GFLs later, when the price settles based on how many are printed. Currently, with a couple weeks left on the sale, there are about half as many printed as there are of the other Rebellion GFLs, but this one won't appear in packs at all - it is buy now, or forever hold your peace - or buy off the secondary market.

Staking them into wagons however, gives another 25,000 contribution points which will hopefully add to an extra card or two in the future. This is important as the Legendary Summoners are coming and they are hopefully going to be well, *legendary.*

I am looking forward to giving them a twirl in the updated UI, though I am definitely not having a "hot day" in terms of results. I have played several rounds throughout the day and have been slaughtered, losing all the ground I made at the start of the season. Perhaps though, my luck is turning?
