<div class="text-justify"> While currently attending an in between session where I just get to listen to others speak, I thought I would start writing for the day. It might be that I don't get to finish. > Should I just press publish? *Probably not.* But since I haven't missed a day in 6 and a half years, it would annoy me to miss due to a mundane reason, like work. The day I next miss should be something amazing. >Like being elected president. That would be something, since I can't even vote for president here. I am not even sure if a foreigner can be president in Finland. But, short of being elected president, I am not planning on missing a day any time soon. Ideally, what I would like to do is expand my footprint, rather than contract. I would live to be able to sit down with all the time in the world on my hands and just write. Though, all the time in the world is meaningless, unless it is filled with something meaningful. > Time is just a marker of movement. If we aren't filling our time with action, we are essentially dead for that period. Dead time. >I wonder how much dead time we have in a *lifetime?* A lot of us talk about not wasting our time, yet we don't often have clarity on what good use of our time is. We are always looking for easier and faster ways to do what we do, but not thinking much about what we are going to do with the extra time. As a result, the additional time resource gets absorbed into our daily activities, without adding to our quality of experience, or the impact we are making on the world. It is like getting a pay rise and instead of investing it, just letting it get whittled away on nothing of consequence, so that a short time later, it is like we never got more at all. Of course, people have different philosophies and approaches to life, and opinions on what constitutes a good life. For the individual, it is very subjective, but for what moves us forward as a society, perhaps it is less subjective. It is just the opinions on the ways to get there that might differ a lot. At least for most of us, we want safety and opportunity. We want an environment that enables and supports us to be our best. I sometimes wonder, if we were all the best versions of ourselves, what do we think of and how do we treat others? Are we competitive and looking to near others, or are we competitive and looking to improve ourselves? Are we competing to see how good we can be, or competing just to win? > Which do you want for yourself? Our strengths as a species has been through our ability to collaborate and solve issues at larger scales. Two people can do what one can't, a hundred can do what 2 can't. But, the larger we scale, the harder to manage, and the easier it is to fall out of alignment and have competing activities, working against each other, rather than with each other. At least in my own experience, the best and most important parts of my life, has come through actions with others, not where I was alone. And the most enjoyable, are the ones where I have won, and so have others. >Win-win. I think this is why I enjoy the facilitation process, even though it is challenging at times and people don't always appreciate the value. Which are you? Sadist? Masochist? *Collaboratist?* I don't think the last one is a word. It should be. Taraz [ Gen1: Hive ] </div>
