<div class="text-justify"> It wasn't a perfect beach day - but it was a day at the beach. Well, an afternoon anyway. Not the one we had wanted, because we had planned to go to the coast to an *actual beach* where there is sea - but due to weather changes, we cancelled our accommodation there and visited the local lake instead. It was still nice and daycare friend was there, so Smallsteps spent most of the time splashing around with her. Though there weren't many people there overall, as it had already been raining and more was on the way. >When it rains, it pours As the saying goes and while we left the beach a few minutes earlier, just as we arrived home it smashed down, filling the gutters and flooding our yard for an hour and pouring in a window we failed to close. Lightning, thunder - the works. But now, it has flipped again and the birds are singing in the trees. >Change is the only constant. So, Day 1 wasn't the most exciting start to the holiday season, but I feel like I am going to need a couple days to get into the swing of not having to do that much. Currently, there is still the stress of the last few weeks in my body and it is going to take some time to dissipate I think. >I should have a massage or something. But unfortunately, the place I go are on holidays too! *It'll be fine.* Who needs relaxation anyway? But really, because it is the weekend, my body and mind still feels like it is going to have to get back to work on Monday, which means it can't relax too much yet. Hopefully come Monday and Tuesday without work, they will realize I am actually on holiday and don't have to worry about getting up in the morning or doing a thousand tasks for other people. This is actually one of the issues with being in an Enablement Team, my work is working for others and there is very little that is "for me" directly - Their good results become an indication of my good results, but it is kind of "good via proxy" in some way. But, not being at work doesn't mean there isn't stuff going on all of the time still and this summer, there are a thousand and one family events, with *every weekend* taken up with something "unmissable". Well, at least we don't have to think about how we are going to spend those weekends, other than... >How the hell am I going to fit into a suit! I think I have lost a little weight over the last week, but I need to lose a little bit more... and then a little bit more again. I know why so many Finns have such ill-fitting suits on the large side, because that way, they don't have to worry about squeezing into them after a couple years of excess, but not enough exercise. Summers are generally a bit quieter on Hive, as more people are travelling and taking it easy. It is actually quite nice though, as people tend to write a little more socially, talking about their lives more, showing where they have visited recently and just in general, being more relaxed. In my opinion at least, it is nice to "get to know" people on Hive through their posts and interact with them at a distributed daily level. Of course and again in my opinion, it shouldn't all be just day to day living posts, but a little softness is good to interject with all the other more serious content. I think it would be nice to get more "social visibility" on some of the accounts here, to show that there are indeed, *real people* behind the scenes, working away at whatever else they might be doing on chain. Of course, not everyone likes to be known on chain, but there are ways to be personal, without uncovering everything also and there are plenty who do this well. >But on that note... The task I have to get done now is *fold the massive pile of laundry* that has been conveniently pushed to cover my side of the bed entirely. This is a chore - not work. Taraz [ Gen1: Hive ] </div>
