After last season not managing to finish in Champion 2 to create a buffer from gold, I rented some play cards and started from Diamond 3 - winning my first *14 games* to improve my "longest streak" from 13 to 14, before dropping three in a row. However, another 8 game streak and then a bit more of a struggle, saw me through to sit on the cusp, falling just into Champion 3.

All up, it was a pretty productive session and I only dropped 8 games out of 41 to claim the 900 points needed.

>I am pretty happy with those stats!

Of course, they aren't going to hold, because over the next few days I am going to make the push for Champion 2 and if lucky, I might even try for Champion 1 for the first time. Last season, I made it within 20 point a couple of times and got denied and driven back on each occasion - but this season I might try to rent a couple more cards to help me make it through. I already rented a Zaku for the first time and it has helped on a couple occasions.

## SPS Airdrop

There are 79 days remaining in the airdrop and currently, SPS is sitting under 10 cents, which I think makes it a bit of a bargain, considering the investor drop has now ended, taking 20M a month out of the emissions. At some point, it *should* go up - but while it is sitting low, I don't mind earning 24% on what I have staked and a *fair bit more* on what I have paired in the DEC:SPS pools. For now, my strategy is to still stake some and pair some into the pools to earn more, but at some point I will just stake instead.

>I hear there is some LAND action coming too

Not sure what is actually going to happen there, but I get the feeling that once more details become known, the related assets are going to see some heavy action, including cards. Right now, people seem to be worried about the price of their holdings, but I think it is good to remember that, *this is crypto,* be prepared for - fluctuations, FUD and when the time comes, *FOMO.*

## Visible Repetition

The other day I saw an article headlined:

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/tarazkp/23tSuuMXW7UzrYbMWNzBrcuT4JvXtVzmbCJtHTAi6byJMKCFyGT7EJxSSJJGDUmr9xvWf.png)

I don't know why this is still a thing, because people have spending crypto instores for a very long time already through the many crypto debit cards that are out there, like Wirex, Crypto.com and all the rest. Granted, this is not using an intermediary gateway, so they are actually accepting crypto directly, but I suspect that due to convenience, many will use the cards anyway.

Right at this moment, the Formula One is on in Miami, which is a pretty big deal in many respects and gets some coverage:

![image.png](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/tarazkp/EoEvrCcKrt1wntRPXXGH8C4LUwQ6iDHiQSkTN7g6P7fxeLj8XNjyr89GwBDmGdVTXvQ.png)

Sure, this doesn't mean anyone is going to be rushing to get into crypto in general, but what is happening is the normalization of "crypto" in the public eyeline and increasing narrative. It is this repetition that will start to see more people becoming comfortable incorporating it into their portfolios, because they will feel that it is ubiquitous enough to take a punt on when their broken offers them some crypto ETF or other investment vehicle.

This compounds even further when the movements of Twitter start to add tokenized monetization *for users* through their platforms and, people start shilling various earning models, including *play-to-earn* like Splinterlands.

So, while a lot of people are worried about the current downs, the real worry is making sure that one is holding enough for the coming ups. People look at the value drop and lament not selling, but what the true travesty is going to be is when it is hitting ATHs and people are complaining because *they didn't buy.*

As they say,

>History repeats.

But, it isn't easy to stay firm in the face of financial loss, especially if one *really needs* what is on the line. But, for those that are able to hold through the downs and the bears and add through it over that period, they are going to likely see the other side and be glad they made it through intact. Those that don't make it through - they will say,

>"Next time"

How many next times are there going to be?

I don't know, but I am going to roll the dice and see what happens, because none of this was possible a few short years ago and if it all crashes and burns, then at least I put myself in with a chance, rather sitting on the sidelines with the majority, looking on in thinly-veiled jealousy, hidden behind ridicule.

*All new industries are mocked before they are accepted.*

Patience is an investment.

Hold it. *Make it count.*
