Next Year or Not
<div class="text-justify">

With the end of the year only a few days away and 2025 drawing rapidly closer, my mind is turning to what it might hold. Every change of year tends to draw on reflection upon the past and prospection for what is to come, but at least for me, this end of year is a little more *disrupted* than in recent memory. The year itself has been very busy, but the last couple months have seen me be both busy with work, and then losing my employed work, leaving me with a highly trimmed-down consultancy business to try and rebuild.

>2025 is already "planned", but there is very little clarity.

For many years now, I have been talking about "life-changing" results from participating in this world of crypto, and I guess it has been life changing already in many ways. I have learned a lot, been involved in a lot, lost a lot, worked a lot, and *slept very little.* However, the life-changing I was looking for was concerning my financial health, which isn't that healthy.

# Will it be the year?

I was thinking about different versions of what lifechanging might be for me, considering my current position, and it is probably worth overviewing them out to better form the image in my head. I was wondering how to do this, so I think it might be in reverse order, from the most "desirable" outcome and work backwards down the list.

1. Be completely debt-free and financially independent. This would mean having a large lumpsum for the debt free part, and then having passive income coming in to the point that I would not only be able to cover all overheads, but be able to still have significant amounts to invest into a portfolio. Best case is, my wife wouldn't have to work, but instead she could pick and choose and take some more risks with the work she does.

2. Be debt-free, but require a job for daily overheads, crypto streams provide for extras. In this scenario, it requires a lumpsum, but the job wouldn't have to be very glamorous in order to cover overheads. It can be a challenging employment environment for me in Finland, and getting *anything* can be difficult. However, I should always be able to pick up *something.*

3. Significant reduction in debt (mortgage), but a decent job for overheads and extras. This would cover the remaining mortgage, plus any extras. In this scenario, the crypto I have left would go toward building a deeper portfolio for *the next cycle.* That is five years away!

4. Pay down some debt as a buffer until I find better work. I would like to build up my business to cover my expenses, but it is going to take a significant amount of time and energy - and a healthy dose of luck. There are additional costs as well. Having a buffer is not ideal though, if it is going to be continually eaten into. I am hoping that it would be a *growing buffer* at least.

5. I think that the worst outcome for crypto 2025 is either that nothing happens at all and the Bitcoin pump to over 100K was it until the next cycle, or it all happens, and I do nothing with it *again.* This way, I get no benefits, and I will be back into the waiting for better times game. I am not sure I have the energy again.

Energy is lacking and sometimes I catch myself *wishing life was easier* than it is. But, I know that wishing is pretty useless, unless it is backed up with the *right actions* that will lead to that outcome. If the right actions aren't taking place, it just comes down to lottery. If the right actions are taking place, the outcome isn't guaranteed, but it can be influenced. Crypto allows us to have more control over our financial wellbeing and influence our outcomes.

And I think this is how I see "financial wellbeing" where we have the monetary resources to be able to influence our outcomes, without having to be reliant on others to provide. It is freedom of opportunity, within reason. It doesn't have to be luxury houses and cars, just access to investment possibilities that we wouldn't have otherwise, whether it be financial investment, or human investment.

> Life should be easier.

*But it isn't.*

Maybe next year.

What are your plans for 2025?
Maybe I can steal some ideas.
