<div class="text-justify"> My near thirty year streak continued today, as I found out that despite various challenges along the process, I did indeed get the internal job I applied for. The last interview I took and failed to get the job, I was 15. While I was pretty confident early on that I was in with a good chance, my confidence waned as some of the stakeholder interviews progressed - *I am definitely not everyone's cup of tea!* I am pretty happy with the result though, especially considering that just six months ago I was unsure if I was ever really going to work again at anything meaningful. Though, this has highlighted some let's say, "areas of opportunity" to improve upon. I now have a couple weeks of holiday that I can relax before going into the new position, which should be pretty much exactly three years after I started at the company. The other thing that is decent with the new position is that it has a more competitive remuneration package than I was on, which is always welcome - It is never going to make me rich, but it does allow me more space *not to use crypto.* While I am off on holiday, I will also have a chance to set up a new work laptop that I picked up today (Reminder: I should upgrade my phone too). That doesn't sound like too much fun and it isn't, but I do like that I am able to do it myself and don't have to ask for every install, like some companies require. It also gives me some practice to get back into the groove of it, as I will hopefully be building a new PC for myself after Christmas for my business and personal life. I haven't decided what to get yet, but I would like to be a little more organized technologically than I am currently and I am also thinking of getting one very wide screen, instead of two monitors. I don't game though - so I am tossing up between a desktop or going for a simple laptop. I do like power for photo editing however. *In Monty Python Style...* ### Now for something completely different. Do you remember that game of "spot the differences" between two pictures? Yeah? The only Mobile game I play is *Words with Friends* (the only other game is Splinterlands) and since I am a cheapskate, I am not going to pay the *10 dollars a month* to get rid of the adverts and *before we go on,* I opt-out of all "relevancy" advertising on every app and device I use. But I ask you.... # WTF is this!!! <div class="pull-left">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/tarazkp/AJoLDcgoGvRnpVXCV5J9G6DAVD7zZ1bNbAGNjEs5cyEWXhAFRSoMpKJDyWA4FKq.jpg</div> <div class="pull-right">https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/tarazkp/AK57qZRjZM4UmdgV6AcgQrs7iXkenfA33BXoigyMtHbCyPdQ9rJJbfNtSkRWg6W.jpg</div> The game itself seems to be aimed at kids, but 50% of the images they use in the advertising are *literally* like these - women sitting on the toilet - Yes, that is Marge Simpson and Beth from Rick and Morty. I am no prude and to each their own, but really ### *Who the hell is this game targeted at?* Is there seriously a market for this kind of game paired with these kinds of images? I mean, it isn't exactly a game for rocket scientists (perhaps they know I am brain damaged??) and I just don't know why these themes would be paired up together. It just... ### Does not compute. If someone wants to have a stab at explaining the logic of this, please, I am all ears. # Moving on... quickly. As said, I am off on holiday now and other than a session or two for my own company tomorrow, I will have the next couple weeks off and will only go back in the second week of January. So, it feels a bit like the end of the week, since I don't have an early start tomorrow - hence the "friday-esque" post. I really do need the break in my opinion, though the next few days are filled with Christmas preparations for the gazillion people we are expecting on Christmas Eve. I don't know why Finns celebrate on the 24th, but I put it down to impatience. My wife and daughter are off for half of this time too, so we will hopefully get a chance to spend some time together, since the last few months have been pretty hectic and the summer was filled with staying home and hospital visits. We aren't sure what we will do yet - but it looks like we are going to go into more ridiculous and useless lockdowns here, so it is going to limit us a bit. For me, other than the family and tech stuff, I am hoping to also get a bit more "crypto organized" so I can go into the New Year ready for the markets. I have a pretty strong feeling that 2022 is going to be pretty horrible in the economy, but this also provides opportunity, and with a new job, perhaps I will be able to make some larger moves from fiat into crypto at the lows. Before that though - I want to see some highs!! *The markets are never a sure thing.* One thing is for certain however - I am not going to be spending any time at all playing, #### *Spot the Differences!* *Society today....* Taraz [ Gen1: Hive ] </div>
