The spectrum of insanity
<div class="text-justify">

These days, I feel like it is hard to surprise me, but today I was surprised, by the sheer level of incompetence and total disregard for truth to the point that what I think was meant to be a serious post, only evoked a laugh. Not only that, the post is around 6000 words long and filled with screen shots - which must have taken them an eternity to create. Gotta to admire the lengths to which crazy will go. If you would like a laugh too, here is a [link.](https://peakd.com/@world-travel-pro/red-alert-wealthy-satanic-pedophile-network-in-full-control-of-hive-blockchain-fbi)

Mental health of course is no laughing matter and this person seems to be in need of a professional, but I sometimes wonder what happens to them "post HIVE meltdown", as this kind of behavior is not uncommon. What leads them into this kind of spiral and, what does it say about them before they slid down the slippery slope? What are they like in real life?

While I don't know for sure, I do feel that this kind of behavior is getting more prevalent on social media in general, which might be due to a confluence of reasons that influence behavior. One of those things is the encouragement for expression of feelings, without the balancing factor of emotional management to temper reactions.

I think this has been leveraged by social platforms and media in general as a control mechanism that drives the pay-per-click model, by polarizing groups and setting all against all scenarios. Trigger an emotion, inject content that raises that emotion enough to react, double down, wind it up. This creates lots of clicks and like any emotional person, the strong feelings prove that their opinion is in "fact", correct.

But, facts have nothing to do with feelings - feelings care nothing about whether information is correct or not, they just care about satisfying themselves and, they are very selfish. It is funny though, as people will use their feelings as evidence of truth, without fact checking if it is justified. And, people talk about the "right to express their emotions" yet, they expect to be able to do so without consequence. And, of they are unable to control "their" emotions, do they actually own them?

This is an interesting question, because if we can't manage our own emotions, that means that we don't actually own them, much like "not your keys, not your crypto". As emotions could be seen as resources that can affect outcomes, if we are completely open to external triggers without being able to choose what we react to, we are fundamentally open to being abused - which I feel is what the platforms are doing. They know us better than we know ourselves and as such, are able to use what they know to nudge us left or right, up or down, black or white.

And, what I find is that the people who have the least emotional control, are also the ones that are most prone to jumping on bandwagons and supporting whatever supports their current view of the world. This means that the emotionally unrestrained are funnily enough, the most likely to follow and once on this track, there can be a leading down the garden path approach to take them to places they never thought they would be. For example, YouTube algorithms are good examples of encouraging siloed, rabbit-hole content delivery, which then leads the audience into increasingly narrow and extreme content.

While the writer of that linked article might feel like he has uncovered the Illuminati, anyone with even a modicum of sense would read the first line and would recognize - what a load of shit was to come.

>*This post signifies the end of my duty exposing what looks to be a wealthy, highly organized network of Satanic pedophiles in full control of the Hive Blockchain.*

Lols... it is laughable, but it isn't - because unfortunately at times, we are social animals that are always on many spectrums and a "birds of a feather, flock together" world exists, where like minds tend to gather. Like minds don't have to be at the Einstein end of the spectrum, they can also be well down the other side. With the polarization of public discourse, nuance has disappeared and in its place, a growing amount of outspoken minority groups, who are on the extreme end of all conversations.

>There is no middle, just polarized insanity.

As I was saying to a friend today, I feel like the current conditions of humanity is a process of devolution through disconnection, as it encourages an increase in grouping by fractional identity. This is a game that only ends when each person is seen as the ultimately unique person they are, which is that at the level of DNA, is the truth. There is no one in the world precisely like me, therefore I am underrepresented in every group activity, other than those where the group is my minority - *a minority of one.*

And that is what we all are, isn't it? To keep things fair, we should have 8 billion Olympics games where each only has one participant. This should drive the price of gold up, since there will only be gold medals handed out, as there will only ever be one competitor.

>Crazy?

Yes! But, this is the problem with identity politics, isn't it? It is an endless spiral into ultimate disconnection, until we are all completely alone.

>Divide and conquer.

And, this is where we are today - divided and soon to be conquered at the granular level and, there needn't be a war or a genocide, because we have chosen to isolate ourselves and no longer have groups at all. A perfect system, where the only one we have to actually consider, is ourselves.

And this is where that emotional control gets interesting, as while people "reserve the right" to express themselves without consequence, they *Care nothing* for the people they affect with their reactions - it is a completely selfish act, but as long as they *feel* it strongly enough, they feel justified.

People are insane.
Some more than others.
