## Since the last 9 month I am on Steemit.com I learned more skills than in the past 3 years of my life. Do you have similar experience?

I was never interested in writing or blogging and before steemit I barely wrote anything beside of stuff I had to do for work. Since I am on steemit I write on a regular basis blog posts,  mainly for design and 3d related content.

Another thing I picked up since I am on steemit is growing interest for programming. Thanks to @roelandp and his awesome visual applications like [steemstream](http://steemstream.com) , I started to learn **JavaScript**. I still have a long way to go to create something similar visual attractive but I am working on it.

Another inspiration for me to look into  mobile development is @good-karma with his well known **eSteem** mobile app. I tried to learn **Swift** for a while but I didn't connect to it, so I stopped eventually. In any case it was a worth experience.

Currently I am learning **Python** and **MongoDB** thanks to [SteemData](https://steemdata.com) created by @furion. I have some ideas to create some nice reports that are currently not available, so that is a huge motivation for me to learn almost daily.  Hopefully It won't take long until I have enough learned to create some queries and pull the information from SteemData into a nice looking report.

**Blender** is another skill I learned through posting on Steemit. Initially I only worked on CAD programs like Onshape and Fusion360 but lately started with Blender as well and simply love it. My dream is to create one day a nice little animation movie using Blender. Still a long way to go for that but I have a goal.

# All the above mentioned is the reason why I am a big fan of the platform, it inspires and challenges you to do things you didn't do before.
