The tide is turning on STEEM and it is a wonderful thing. One of the biggest complaints on the STEEM blockchain is getting the support of bigger accounts. For the past couple months, I wrote about the idea of newer people getting involved with the applications. This will enable one to receive an upvote from an account with some Steem Power which will enhance one's reputation along with the SP in the account. I had no documented evidence of this yet it was an intuition based upon what I saw taking place on this blockchain. There is so much SP going to the applications that it only makes sense they will spread the votes out. There was a post today that supports this with evidence. @boddhisattva did a post after studying the curators who had the most votes going to accounts with a reputation below 55. This included both individuals and DApps (bots were separated out). As this chart shows, in the top 5 (with Dlive exiting), are 3 applications. Looking at the totals, we see exactly what I am referring to. @steempress-io, @esteem, and @actifit held spots 3, 4, and 5. They combined for 3,032 votes to 1,158 authors (some might be duplicate if using more than one app). The total SBD distributed was 1,411.02. It looks like this was for a one week time period. The delegated SP are as follows: @steempress-io 1M @esteem 490K @actfit 140K Thus, we have the equivalent of 1 Whale and 2 Orcas upvoting the content for smaller accounts. Looking at the overall list by @boddhisattva, a great deal of the top 30 are applications. https://steemit.com/bisteemit/@boddhisattva/top-200-effective-steemit-curators-who-are-actively-support-newcomers-with-reputation-below-55-for-the-last-week-2018-09-10-2018 I think it is important to note this since we are going to see more of this as we embark in the future. The applications are what will bring people to the blockchain and that is where the upvotes will be received. Hence, the more SP in the accounts of these apps, even as delegation, the more SP that is spread around. We know that reputation might not be the best metric to use but it does emphasize the point that there are a lot of votes going towards the smaller accounts. This, of course, does not include the upvotes that an applications like @actifit does for those Plankton accounts with a reputation score above 55. Nevertheless, it is in line with much of the other evidence that is out there: smaller accounts are receiving some support. I will take this opportunity to encourage all newer people to start using the applications on STEEM. @actifit is a great one since it only requires downloading the app onto your phone, moving around all day long, and then posting the count (using the app) to Steemit at the end of the day. Hitting the minimum level of 5K will merit an upvote from the @actifit account. This just points to the design of the STEEM system. While there are some issues that need tending to, overall, the system is working how it was projected. I do believe this will continue as we see more SMT based applications join this blockchain. Over the last few months, we notice that the a lot of SP is being delegated to these accounts. And now, we see these accounts are spreading the votes around. ___ If you found this article informative, please give it an upvote and resteem.
