The Manna team is pleased to announce the launch of our new web-based cryptocurrency platform at Mannabase.com.
 
Anyone in the world can register a Mannabase account and sign up for Manna Universal Basic Income, with no cost or barrier to entry. Mobile phone verification is required to be approved for the UBI program. Some users will be approved automatically, and others will require manual review, as part of our fraud prevention system to prevent duplicate signups and keep the program fair for everyone.
 
In late February, we will roll out the web-based wallets on Mannabase, and weekly automated distributions of Manna Basic Income will begin on March 1.
 
Grantcoin recipients who had an account on Ekata Social now have a Mannabase account that we have created for you. You will receive an email with your new login credentials. Grantcoin that was held in Ekata wallets is being securely held by Mannabase, Inc., and will become available as Manna in your Mannabase wallet later this month. Thank you for your patience as we complete this transition.
 
Manna is the world’s first cryptocurrency to be distributed primarily as Universal Basic Income. In our Grantcoin pilot program, we distributed over $250,000 of value in the form of Grantcoin (now Manna) currency to nearly 3,000 people in more than 100 countries around the world.
 
“Manna is designed to empower people by making cryptocurrency available to everyone,” said Eric Stetson, founder and Executive Director of the project. “By distributing Manna as Universal Basic Income, we’re helping to create a new financial system that can systematically reduce poverty and inequality.”
 
Manna is distributed by the People’s Currency Foundation, a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Mannabase, Inc. was established by the founders of Manna to develop a user-friendly platform for Manna UBI recipients. Mannabase plans to add more features to the platform later this year, such as targeted direct giving to people in need, creative workers, and charities.
