0.000 HBDStepping Back: What We Are Doing Here Is Vital To Humanity
It is easy to get caught up in the little things while missing the bigger picture. The announcement this week of Facebook starting its own token sent waves throughout the world. The financial and regulatory communities came out in force, voicing their opinions on both sides of the issue. This single move poses a big threat to the present financial system. Some believe that it is a power move by Facebook, seeking to collapse the present global system and replace it with its own. This creates an interesting situation. We have the tech oligarchs taking on the bankers. Based upon the reaction, we know the bankers are scared. Their henchmen, aka regulators and politicians, were out in droves talking about how they cannot allow this to happen. While I admit there is nothing better than the idea of the bankers being taken down, climbing into bed with the tech oligarchs is not the best idea either. These people have shown little concern for humanity. Their vision of the future is similar to the bankers: slavery. This is an opportune time for a move like this since technology is more powerful than ever. We are getting close to the point that AI and robotics are going to take tens of millions of jobs. Many believe this will not happen and you do see this espoused on the mainstream media. The tech people tell us that technology always created more jobs than they destroyed. Yet, we also see the same geeks talking about a UBI is needed. If the jobs were not going away, why would we need that? At the same time, we are also alerted to the fact that only drab, rudimentary jobs are at risk. Creativity is not. If this is a part of your job or career, you are safe. Since the media is promoting it, it is best not to believe it. Marketing is a field with a great deal of creativity. Here is a marketing blog that shares a lot of pointers. The only problem, it is completely written by AI. http://thismarketingblogdoesnotexist.com/ Facebook was able to amass so much control through their centralized platform. This is no different than governments. Over the last 50 years, in the United States, we saw a major shift in power towards Washington. For all the talk of states rights, the feds took over. Here is a shift that makes it harder for one to have an impact. The more centralized something is, the easier it is to control. And when you are outnumbers, centralized power is the only feasible approach. It is safe to conclude that Facebook does not have humanities best interest in mind. In fact, Facebook is unique in that Zuckerberg answers to nobody, not even his share holders. This guy is even worse than most of the tech oligarchs in that he is "Supreme Ruler". His voting rights are far superior to everyone else. This is actually the worst of the worst. Our time spent here on Steem is working in the opposite direction. Each day, more people are helping to decentralize things. While there are still issues, it is the direction we are heading. This is helping to create a third alternative for the masses. On one hand is the tech oligarchs. On another is governments and central banks. And the third is decentralized, open source platforms. Humanity desperately needs the third. The same advancement in technology that allows the likes of Facebook to become so powerful is also what is giving the third option power. Individuals never had so much technology available to them. It is also at costs that were never seen before. This is some powerful ammunition we are playing with. Technology is nothing to be afraid of. When I read about people fearing it, I realize they do not fully grasp what is taking place. Even the fears about AI are completely misplaced since the true capability of the technology is nothing like Hollywood (propaganda arm) portrays. The question with technology is who controls it. In the hands of individuals is where it belongs. It is not very dangerous there. However, when it is in the hands of governments or corporations, it is very dangerous. Hence, I do not fear technology as much as I fear the likes of Trump, Hillary, Zuckerberg, the Google boys, central banks, and mega tech companies. That is where the danger lies. We know people are asleep. They are conditioned to read headlines. There is no way the average person is aware of any of what I am referring to on here. Instead, the belief is that their politics is the answer, whatever that is. Or they complain about things yet spend their time feeding the beast by issuing their displeasure on Facebook. The system erected is powerful, this is something we need to take seriously. The tech oligarchs running the show are no better than the governments. Both are corrupt and operating in total self interest. There is no accountability to anyone outside themselves and their inner circle. Blockchain is a powerful technology if adopted. At this point, I believe Steem has some of the most activity in terms of development of any chain. Others are making progress too yet the vast majority are just hype. We are the ones who are providing solutions *right now* to real problems. This is a crucial aspect to all of this. What is interesting is that Steem is about the size of Facebook in one regard. There are probably 20K people who are on here contributing each day. The employee pool for Facebook is as follows: https://www.statista.com/statistics/273563/number-of-facebook-employees/ We are somewhere between the 2016 and 2017 numbers for that company. While there is a big difference in the type of people, the point is we have numbers that are similar to those who are responsible for developing that platform. It is in this regard that Steem is a powerful group. *Do not mistaken that to mean that Steem is equivalent to Facebook in terms of users or scope* They have 35K people working for slavery, we have 20K trying to create freedom. For us, it is a number that is growing each week. It is important to note what is taking place in terms of the bigger picture. This is vital to the future of humanity. While others see problems ahead, I see the solutions. Blockchain and cryptocurrency can cure a great deal of what ails us. The present system is not working for most and, I believe, that is by designed. The new system be proposed by mega tech is just a rewriting of the first system. It is basically the same with the players changing. Hence humanity will be exchange one master for another. In the end, it is still enslaved. What we are developing here presents a third option. This is about freedom and people getting power in their hands. It is early in the game yet we are already seeing progress. Those who were displaced by mega tech because their views were not aligned with the ultra liberal (not even liberal or left) views the elites carry, now have a place to come and present their views. This is just one piece of the puzzle. It is imperative that we all understand what is taking place while working in the other direction. Why am I on Steem? Because I love freedom and I believe it is one of the paths that humanity needs to achieve that end. If you want a good article about the tech oligarchs, I suggest this one. https://quillette.com/2019/06/19/what-do-the-oligarchs-have-in-mind-for-us/ ___ If you found this article informative, please give an upvote and resteem.
