There is no doubt that onboarding is someething that the [Leofinance](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance) team has focused upon for a while. It is also beyond debate that 2022 was a rough year for [cryptocurrency](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency0. For this reason, Hive was not excludes. The [bear market](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bear-market) takes it toll, even on Hive. We see people pull back, allowing [market](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-market) prices to affect their activity. Of course, we historically see them return once the [bull](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bull) starts running. Even without this taking place, the question is can Leofinance basically 10x its userbase over the next 12 months? If it does, what kind of impact will that have? One of the keys for [Web 3.0](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-web-3-0) is to break the correlation between activity and [prices](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-price). By adding utility, people will engage regardless of what the markets are doing. To give an example, do Facebook users really care about the price of Meta [stock](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-stocks)? The same was true when [Twitter](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-twitter) was publicly traded. Yet, for obvious reasons, Web 3.0 is still tied to pricing. Perhaps we will overcome it in 2023. <center>[Source](https://static.wikia.nocookie.net/flippr/images/1/1d/5000_party.png/revision/latest?cb=20150812021535)</center> ### The Road To 5,000 Users A 10x of the users sounds like a mammoth task. However, when we put it in context, 5,000 users in the online world is nothing. Consider that Twitter has roughly 250 million and the Facebook family is over 2 billion. In this regard, 5,000 is a rounding error. So how do we go about it? According to the New Year's Eve video put out by the Leofinance team, one of the focus areas is going to be [LeoThreads](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/loeglossary-threads). This is obviously pushing the new UI design. Once that is completed, we are told, the focus of the [application](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-application) will be on [microblogging](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-microblogging). That does not mean that the rest of the features on Leofinance are disappearing. It only means there is a shift in what new people are presented with. Is this a sound strategy? We will learn in time. Once the update is released, we will then learn how effective this decision is. On paper, it seems to make sense. People like engagement. There is no doubt that Threads within the existing front end is not easy to navigate. Having an application that focuses upon this feature could go a long way to enticing newer users. Micoblogging on the [blockchain](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/blockchain) is a new idea. For the most part, it hasn't been thoroughly tested. Past attempts ended up not being sustained, leaving the door open for this team to step in. So far, they appear committed to it. ### LeoGlossary This is a project that I personally feels has great potential for Leofinance and Hive. It is still in the early stages, starting roughly 5 months ago. Over the next year, the goal is to at least double, if not triple, the number of terms in the [database](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-database). We are also going to look at adding depth to what is already there. A database of [financial](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-finance), [cryptocurrency](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/cryptocurrency), and investing terms could be powerful. This is coupled by the fact that we control what the focus is, allowing for lots of Hive and Leofinance based content. Here is what I posted on #threads earlier: <center></center> One of the keys is to keep driving traffic to the ecosystem. This is more art than science since the search engines aren't about to reveal all their secrets. Needless to say, the more quality we put out there, the better things will be. The idea behind LeoGlossary is to make Leofinance a resource center. This is what drives traffic. When people show up repeatedly to your site, this is how the numbers really start to grow. Consider all the websites you visit on a daily basis. It could be coingecko to get the latest crypto prices. Some might hit up Yahoo or Google Finance for stock quotes. We have weather sites. Wikipedia is obviously a big one. Hence, LeoGlossary is simply trying to replicate this. If people start to look at it as a database of information, they will keep coming back. And this helps traffic which, at some point, could translate into ad revenue. Do you see how it all can build? ### Stop Looking At Things In Isolation It is easy for us to looking at things on an individual basis. This is where something like Hive is misleading. We need to take a holistic approach to things. On a smaller scale, Leofinance is the same way. Nothing operates in a vacuum. It all feeds into other parts, which establishes the whole. It is why we need to keep pressing each area, looking for growth wherever we can. A 2x in one area might be a 10% benefit elsewhere. Hopefully, throughout 2023, there will be other projects tied to Hive that can attract some users. Whatever ideas people have, they are free to test them out on this blockchain. Leofinance has a small but dedicated community. The first goal is to 10x the size. Are 5,000 users per day possible in 2023? This would make it one of the leading [social media](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-social-media) applications out there. ___ If you found this article informative, please give an upvote and rehive. https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/doze/MkkDNhyH-2020_04_13_16_57_48.gif gif by @doze logo by @st8z * [What is Hive](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-hive) Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@taskmaster4450le/can-leofinance-reach-5-000-users-per-day-in-2023)
