[Elon Musk](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-elon-musk) makes headlines in many different ways. One of the most recent layers of attack is on his management style. The culture that Musk establishes in his companies is unrivaled. Because of this, it is something that most are not accustomed to. It is, however, what sets Musk's companies apart from the rest. No matter how many times the [financial](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-finance) media or [YouTube](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-youtube) naysayers want to attack Musk or [Tesla](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-tesla), the proof is in what the competition is doing. They are sucking Tesla's tailpipe. A lot of this is due to the culture Elon establishes. In this article we will delve into what makes it so powerful. <center> [Source](https://geospatialmedia.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/700600p546EDNmainimg-process-change-management1.jpg)</center> ### Constant Change We all heard the story. [Herbert Diess](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-herbert-diess), the ex-[CEO](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-ceo) of VW Group, publicly stated his dismay at Tesla's new factory in Germany being able to produce a car in 10 hours where his plant took over 30. Why was Tesla able to produce cars so much quicker? We also get a lot of information from Sandy Munro. He is ex of Ford when it comes to his automotive career. Now, he has a company that rips apart different products, they write up a report, and sell it to the others in that industry. He is like an engineering JD Power. Where Munro provides his greatest insight is comparing Tesla to the inner workings of a legacy company like Ford. There are numerous stories where they would rip down a Tesla and provide a series of suggestions for improvement. It was not uncommon to look at a car a few months later and see the changes implemented. Munro said that, at Ford, it was a minimum in the next model year. However, even that was unlikely since the engineers, designed, and a host of other people would spend months in meetings before even starting to approach the problem. Not Tesla. So what is it that makes this so powerful? The idea of **constant change**. Enter a Musk company and that is the first day of training. Your [job](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-job) description means nothing because tomorrow everything will be different. That is how things operate. Find a problem, fix it. ### Innovation In Real Time Basically it is easy to see how this is innovation in real time. Go through YouTube and you can find videos from people who use to work at Tesla. They share about how they would see a problem on the factory floor, mention it to someone else, and they both would work on the problem. A few hours later, it was a permanent change in the line. That is how fast this company operates. It is likely the same way at SpaceX, Boring, and, now, [Twitter](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-twitter). At the basis of this is the trust in people. Elon only wants to hire the best. For that, he believes in having skilled people, and then turn them loose. It is here where the cream can rise to the top. Those who are willing to put forth the effort can see where the abilities are utilized. This is enhanced if there is the overriding vision that one believes in (such as sustainable [energy](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-energy-industry) or multi-planet civilizations). It is likely this type of approach is upsetting to many. We know this does not sit well with those who want to do nothing and collect a paycheck. The media showed its true colors with its coverage of the Twitter situation. Nevertheless, any true [developer](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-developer) will likely understand this approach. The key in that line of work is to break things and do it quickly. All the planning in the world means nothing until the software actually goes live. So get it over with and flip the switch. This is the approach Musk takes to all his companies. He wants everything done that way. It is why so many misunderstood his first actions with Twitter. That is nothing new with him. Get in there and go to work. If you mess something up, no worries, just fix it. This is something we all can adopt. How much time do we waste trying to ensure everything will work out properly before taking action? Screw it. Just do it and figure out what needs to happen next. If the entire thing blows up, then you know not to do that again. With Elon, the only constant is change. That is the culture he adopts for his companies. So far, even thought it pisses a lot of people off, it appears to be working. ___ If you found this article informative, please give an upvote and rehive. https://images.hive.blog/0x0/https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/doze/MkkDNhyH-2020_04_13_16_57_48.gif gif by @doze logo by @st8z * [What is Hive](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-hive) Posted Using [LeoFinance Beta](https://leofinance.io/@taskmaster4450le/elon-culture-constant-change)
